I'm building a BA force with an 8th Company theme. The 8th Company is made up of 10 Assualt Squads, and I'm building mine as a Mechanized/ Jump force.

My questions:

1) Which company supplies vehicle crews? I'm assuming vehicles are crewed by the company they are supporting.

Dedicated transports (Rhino/ Razorback/ Land Raider)?
Landspeeders?
Bikes?
Support vehicles (Vindicators/ Whirlwind)?

2) How many SM make up the crew of:

Rhino?
Razorback?
Land Raider?
Vindicator?
Predator?

3) Honor Guard- Are these drawn from within the Company or from a separate pool of troops?

4)

AFAIK Vehicle Crew (bar Landspeeders and Bikes) aren't drawn from companies...

If you look in the vanilla codex, I believe it shows the vehicle pool as a seperate entity from the rest of the Chapter, they are simply assigned to a company for the duration of an operation.

Vehicle crews are (I THINK) supposed to be painted like adepts of the machine god, hence the cog symbols... So paint them like you would techmarines, a lot of people don't do this, though... But I'd say just give them a dark red helmet and dark red shoulderpad/s depending on how many pads have a cog symbol

Check Lexicanum, it has this data... Apparently a Rhino only has one crew member... not sure I'd believe that, I'd assume that's when it's configured to its default setup.

The Honour Guard are a seperate pool, I think... at least, that's how it was implied to work in Chaos Rising. I believe they must be drawn from the 1st Company originally, but I don't think they're within its organisation.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Oh I forgot to add that Landspeeders are crewed by Assault Marines from the Company they're with, I believe.

Speeders and bikes are crewed by assault marines.

the Moterpool is a seperate entitiy from the chapter limit of 1k marines. They are all the techmarines and apprentice techmarines.

other then Rhinos and Razorbacks(which are driven by the squad that uses them, at least in the fluff) they drive everything.

they are also the command crew for the chapters space ships.

there might be anywhere from 50-100 marines involved directly with the vehicles of the chapter. the MotF is essentially an 11th captain of an unoffiacial company

If the squad riding in a rhino drives it, who is staying behind to keep driving it when they disembark?
