I'm making a WHFB dark elves army, but cannot decide on (some of) the contents. I am planning to use the battalion contents and a master tooled up with magic items and if possible a sorceress and an an assassin or two (the army will be 2000pts ish). Can anyone help please?

Ok, so first you got way too many points of magic on the dreadlord, he can only have 100 points.

Best option right now if you want to keep your money buget down to is to go caster heavy till you get more models.

Split the corsairs into 2 groups of 10, give them dual handbows. So 130 points each squad.

The reaper bolt thrower you need to take in pairs.

Id probably go something like

Supreme Sorceress
Lvl 4, Black Staff, Pendant of Khaeleth - 330 pts

Sorceress
Lvl 2, Darkstar cloak, Dispel Scroll - 185

Sorceress
Lvl 2, Arcane Staff - 170

Assassin
Manbane, Rending Stars, Cloak of Twilight, Additional Hand weapon - 171

Now theres a couple different things you can do here for your last spot but im not sure what your budget is like for the army. Id add in a unit for 14 black guard with full command, crimson death and stand of hag graef and drop one of the corsair squads. You could also just add in a second hydra or another squad of cold one knights and a unit of 5 shades

Well I would wait on building lists before you know the costs and what the upgrades do. Its kind of like building a house without measuring anything. Unlikely to work well, and certainly not going to pass code.

If you must build a list before you get a book, then just copy one of the many other lists that have been posted.
