Hey I want to participate in the 'ard boyz tourny and am fielding 10 termies. The problem lies in that they are OOP, and I'm wondering if they need to be on new termie bases.

As long as it is clear what they are, I see no problem in using OOP models, altbough, following RAW, you must mount them on the bases they came with, and any other bases will require your opponents permission to use them.

Yes. the fact the y came on the 25mm bases is perfect - if you put them on the newer bases you would then, technically, need to ask permission to use them.

I’ve seen folks debate that “the bases they come with” actually refers to the bases the model is CURRENTLY supplied with, but the above posts are at least as common an interpretation.

Personally, I rebased all my old metal termies onto 40mms. It’s consistent with the current models, and less likely to draw funny looks from newer players. Additionally, the old metal termies are actually big enough that they look pretty good on 40mm. If you base them on slightly raised scenic bases (like a few mm of rock), they’re about the same height as the new plastic terms too, and the size difference isn’t all that noticeable.

check with the tourney organizers. i'm fine with people using the bases that the OLD models had (like metal 2nd ed termies on 25mm) but others aren't. a tourny i'm planning on going to changed the rule to what the equivalent models currently come with which suprised me; i can see why they went that way with the ruling but i wouldn't have expected that (so i flocked up some guard 60mm bases for my old heavy weapons teams).
