Okay, the rumor I've read is that after 8th edition comes out the starter box will be changed to skaven and elves. I own no fantasy stuff right now. Eventually I would like to start and dwarves and goblins interest me much more than skaven and elves. I know that I could find the Skull Pass boxed set now for 20% off. Is that a good price for the amount of figures that you get? I can't gauge GWs price scheme, all I can tell is that they are expensive. I will definitely get double use out of my figures by using them for other rules sets/game systems. So, are the minis in Skull Pass a good deal for the $, even though it will come with an outdated rulebook? Am I better off just buying minis individually? I can't tell.

Its worth it.

The goblins alone cost about $75, if not more.

Very good

If you want goblins its the way to go. I have been wanting to do a NG army for a while but Goblins are a really expensive army. BFSP makes it a lot more affordable plus the goblin models are quite nice. If you buy them normaly you will be spending 3 or 4 times as much as a normal army. For some reason GW sells a 60 point unit for the same as a 180 point unit. To get the same number of points as 1 WoC box you need to buy about 3 boxes of NG, which is a real pain, and its the reason you don't see that many true horde armies.

Crawl eBay ... with shipping you should be able to get the pieces for the Dwarf (or Gobbos if yer lucky) for about 44% (50% incl shipping)

There are still white-boxers who buy the game, break them up and sell them piecemeal as the "Poor Man's Battle Force" which works out nice for you

This or split the cost by selling the side you dont want off. Thats my plan.
