GK taken with Space Wolves?

I've seen many army lists with space wolves and grey knights toghether, made a few myself, but a guy at my FLGS says that they can only be taken with "normal" codex marines, IG, and SoB's.

Is this true, or can Space Wolves, Blood Angels, and other Non Codex marines take them? It would be awesome if they can.

I thought the rule was that you could pick from one of two codices - Codex: Space Marines or Codex: Imperial Guard.

GKs and SoB codex allow for the addition of codex marines or IG to your force... but you can't take Wolves or Blood Angels or Dark angels

However... if you take wolves or angels, marines, Dark angels, or IG as your base codex you can allie in GKs or SoB

"A. Guy" is Wrong.

Read the DH/WH Codexes, it very clearly states that SW and other variant chapters can take DH/WH as allies.

Correct. Space Wolves can take DH/WH allies, but a DH/WH army may not take Space Wolves allies (although it does provide that you can use the Space Wolves as 'counts as' Marines.)
