Okay, well this is my tournament list Tyranids...which for me has been the most competitive and successful of all my armies. This blog will show a lot of my already painted stuff as well as my works in progress. The concept is a genestealer cult style army...more nids then cultist. They are the infiltrators and burrowers that have landed planetside and are awaiting the call for carnage.

The list consists of:
Swarmlord w/ Tyrant Guard (Patriarch)
44x Genestealers
3x Trygons
3x Zoanthropes (Magus)
2x Hive Guard

To start, I have my (3) tyrant guard conversions.

Where are the sword bits from?

I believe its two darke lf corsair oes, and the vampire countess one? ic ould be wrong. BTW, nice models, but i have a few ideas to improve.

Atm they look like daemonettes still. why not try your hand at making one of those funky mini carapace things genestealers have on their forheads, on them?

Also, if theyre hybrids, depending on what generation they are could vary their apearance more. For example, and extra athrophied arm wouldnt go amiss.

Just some thoughts.

Cool models, but won't people complain about the size issues? over here, people can be pretty small-minded about such things... Looking forward to more!

Well I was trying to keep them sexy-ish. I am thinking of filling in the other breast and put on (2) claw arms from the daemonettes spure so they have four arms. I thinking just behind and below the shoulders, so they still look slim.

BTW you are right on the extra parts. I cut up the upper arms of the daemonettes and the gloved hands of the corsairs and pinned them together.

Im not worried about the size difference, if someone complains than I dont have to play them. Especially when they get a load of my Zoanthrope conversions. So far my opponents have been fully briefed prior to game starts and have not had a problem knowing whats what. Except for this high school kid but thats another issue altogether.

I don't i think tyrant guards would be bulky I mean they would at least have power armor. Zoanthropes as magi is a great idea.

A poker chip base ^_^ how constructive

Yeah I ran out of 40mm. They are a hairs breath wider then gw's. 100 chips for a buck, not bad.

WIP of my Swarmlord. Still need to work on the boneswords. Going to trim up the “hilt and guard”, add some green stuff to make the blades a little more living and squirming. I think I will redo the upper sword arms as they look a little stiff for me.

Okay big update…Ive been burning the midnight oil on this, desperate to have my list ready for ‘ard boyz. First up is the Swarmlord: I slimmed up the guards and added some greenstuff to the blades…also some more skulls for his collection.

Trygons: I realize that the first one is using some of the Mawloc parts but this is a Trygon. The left jaw thingy and lower left arm are broken off on purpose, I will be adding melta gun damage to the paint job. I am running 3x Trygons.

My genestealer Magus! “Counts-As” zoanthropes. The one priest guy with the floating thingamigig will have some tentacles coming from the creature to the base of the models skull.

Crap...here is the hive tyrant WIP, im thinking of adding on twin deathspitters and not close combat. Though not sure if I lose attacks if I add another shooty arm set.

Well you can safely say your the only guy whos made a hive tyrant with a balrog...

Like the zoanthropes aswell, its a cool concept.

Okay will post some more tonight. After you see the revised tyrant guard, let me know something: Would they be better served as "broodqueens" and move my beefed up "broodlords" to act as tyrant guard?

Dont expect to see the zoanthropes painted for awhile, they have been a disappointment in games. Also added some venomthropes, no converting as of yet, probably not either.
