I know these have their own IA weapon rules ,
but under the Tau Codex , what weapon would they work for "count as"?

They're new FW pieces.

As to Luna:

The railgun I could see as having 2 TL-Railrifles or using it as a XV-88 alt.

The plasmas could also be 2 TL Plasma Guns (though I much prefer the FW rules on that one )

The Shield/Gun could count as Shield (obviously) and cyclonic/flamer/airburst weapon. It's generic enough it would fit just about any Commander type weapon.

Eye of Terra.

If I'm not mistaken, FW has rules for everything they produce should it vary from the standard items. Very often to be found in their neat (if expensive) theater books written as an historical document.

Since FW has a very close relationship with GW I would imagine that they should be considered acceptable alternatives to codex armor.

At least it's the way we do it in my gaming group. Between myself and others our group has most of the FW catalog.

Though I must say I personally haven't seen detail yet. I do have this suit on order, however.

Yes they have FW rules for them but i want to use them in normal 40k games without using forge world rules.

Im not familiar with Tau faction and their weaponry , hence i was wondering if these FW models / weapons
resemble GW ones (if yes , which ones )so i can use them as Count As crisis suits.

These are in Imperial Armour: Apocalypse II--barring the suit in the middle.

They're bigger than standard Crisis Suits, by a large margin.

Does the last one C) look close enough to be used as Broadside rail cannons?

I sent FW an e-mail saying I've got $ available if they tell me what I'm buying. I really don't undersand how they expect someone to plunk down the kind of coin they charge without at least a hint of if the unit is useful or not. And I'm not paying $120 for their stupid rulesbook/catalog that I won't use 98% of.

The one with "Fusion Cascades" could probably play as having fusion blasters or burst cannons
The third could probably play as having two twin-linked plasma rifles

Keep in mind those are not tournament legal. The base they come with is bigger than the GW one.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

I doubt any tournament would stop you because you used a larger base size. People model commanders and such on larger bases all the time.

Is it some obscure American thing?

Do you take the glottal stop into account (the apostrophe when used this way)?

Luna, you could get away with using the third one as a broadside. As to the person who doesn't want to pay for the rulebook, boo-hoo, buy the book. Imp Apoc 2 isn't that expensive, and is usefull because of all the other rules included.

I would be happy for you to use the fusion cascades as anything a normal suit could carry, but would work best as fusion/flamer or plas. Again for the commander, the gun is sufficiently generic to use it as whatever you wished.

You may not be able to use them in tourneys where fw rules aren't accepted, but who cares? They are great looking pieces, and I have 4 of the basic armament models that are really effective.

Nah, that wasn't aimed at you, Luna. I agree about the GW suits, my tau are all FW and I use the old metal stealth suits as fire warriors! I hope you get some of the suits as they are a dream to put together, and look even better when you're holding them.

They are a bit clunky aren't they?

The FW suits are larger but very nice. I'm sure GW will incorporate some, if not all of them when they reboot the Tau.

Ah ok my questions are:

Are the arms one piece? or are they glued at the shoulder and elbow?
Can the waist turn or is it 1 piece?
Also the knee and ankle can they be posed?

And the commander with shield , the shield is sort of stuck in that same position right?

They are mostly mobility questions so if i buy squads of them , i want to make sure they arnt mono posed.

I don't know but they used to have, "fully posable" in the item description. If not, a little work with s a dremel and it's not hard to change them around. I've straightened arms and changed poses on my crisis suits that way.

All the joints are poseable. It's a very good kit to work with. I blue-tak everything first to check I the pose, and then glue after.

If you mean Tau as in the species, they have human like legs, but have hooves instead of feet. Plus they have only four fingers.

The last set I had access to (prior to these) were all one piece - which kind of set me off because I was hoping to do some magnetic implants. But FW kits are exactly what you use to chop up and magnatize.

I have seen a few of these new ones around the store, but they were already put together so I'm not sure how much posing you could actually do.

I'm really hoping for a re-boot as well because these are very nice - especially compared to the boxes we have now.
