OK, car bombs in NY have been a nightmare of mine for years, especially since my family is there and take the trains and tunnels all the time. But somehow I'm not too scared right now. Why?
He locked his house keys in the car bomb.
He also locked the keys to the getaway car and had to take the train home.
And then he wait 2 days before realizing that maybe he should leave the country? What? Was he afraid he'd miss American Idol?
I don't think Al Qaeda is really recruiting the best and the brightest any more.

The video is the new movie in the UK called 4 lions a pseudo telling of the bombings in London a few years ago.
I heard about it on the radio last night.
Apologies if it is in the clip as I don't have sound on my work computer, but at one stage they are talking about what explosives they got and one says he bought (?hydrogen?) peroxide - the one for fertiliser and the other guy goes off as it is traceable. The guy who bought it says 'Don't worry I used an IRA accent so they won't trace me'.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

No, that's false. Even if the ties are confirmed it doesn't mean that he was a member of a Pakistani organization. It simply means that he was influence by one, which is a wholly different, and much more dangerous, matter.
More worrying is this guy's ties to the Pakistani military, which is literally rife with people of a Jihadist sensibility.

I'd parse that a bit, a terrorist's means is terror, but their ends are political. They do not 'win' if we are scared, they win if our fear makes us give in to their demands.
Anyway the point of this thread is to mock the Times Square bomber, he could have me hiding under my bed, urging my parents to move to Wisconsin instead he just made me laugh.
