I was thinking that burna boyz are pretty awesome at what they do and are able to cut apart marines and flame tyranids alike with their weapons. So I thought that they might have a good chance to survive long enough for one of them to become a warboss.

Warboss 'Eadskorcha

275 Points

WS-BS-S-T-W-I-A-Ld-Sv
5 2 5 5 3 4 4 9 4+

Special rules: Independent Character, Mob Rule, Furious Charge, Waaagh!, Burnin' All Da Way

Wargear: Da Big Burna, Choppa, Burna-Proof Suit, Stikkbomms, Attack Squig

Da Big Burna: Warboss 'Eadskorcha is more obsessed than most Burna Boyz about flames and fire. His own personal burna reflects this. Constructed by a Big Mek who he payed with the teeth of his entire squad, it is one of the best burnas ever made, at least as far as the word best can be used to describe ork technology. It has the following profile.

Range-Template S-5 AP-5 Type-Assault 2, Twinlinked

Warboss 'Eadskorcha may forgo the the Twinlinked effect on his Burna in order for the weapon to count in Assault as a power weapon if it is fired during the shooting phase. If the weapon isn't fired during the shooting phase before an assault, it confers one extra attack and counts as a power weapon.

Burna-Proof Suit: Constructed from the scorched and cracked armor of a Space Marine, the armor was radically changed when he took it to a Big Mek and offered all of the teef of his squad in order to make it burna proof. With the application of a strange goo from native swamps, the suit became incredibly fire resistant. He has a 2+ Invuln Save against any flame based attacks that are used against him, but weapons like meltas may pierce his armor as normal. Additionally, any unit equipped with a burna or a skorcha in your army may fire into assaults that Warboss 'Eadskorcha is a participant in. If the template is placed over him, remember that he also takes a hit and must make an armor save if there is a wound.

Burnin' All Da Way: If Warboss 'Eadskorcha is in an army, it may only have one squad of Lootas, as he despises such large weapons that don't "do da proppa ding and make dings burn".

Any mob of Meganobs in an army with Warboss 'Eadskorcha may replace their twin-linked shootas with a skorcha kombied with a rokkit for +15 points a model.

Big Mekanicus: As the relationship between Warboss 'Eadskorcha and Big Meks has always been good, a Big Mek that is fielded in the same army as him has no base cost but the upgrade costs are unaffected. Any Big Mek that is fielded may be upgraded to a Big Mekanikus for +30 points, to represent the many pieces of assorted Space Marine armor and Tau Weapons that Warboss 'Eadskorcha has plundered and stolen in order to grab more fiery weapons. A Big Mekanikus may choose two of the following upgrades:

Plasma Flamer: Based upon the remains of several broken plasma cutters pried off the corpses of Techmarines, the results of the Big Mekanikus's expirements on it have fielded a surprisingly powerful but unpredictable flame weapon. This may be taken in the place of a slugga.

Range-Flame Template S-6 AP-D3+2 Type-Assault 1, Twin-linked, Gets Hot!

35 Points

Seeker Rokkit: With three Seeker Missiles to spare and a barely functional Markerlight on his hands, the Big Mekanikus decided to do what any good Big Mek would do and try to make the most deadly Rokkit Launcha in the Ork arsenal. May only fire three Rokkits in the game it is fielded in.

Range-24" S-8 AP-3 Type-Special

When fired, roll for what the Seeker Rokkit will do. On a roll of a 1 or 2, a Seeker Rokkit is fired but the markerlight doesn't work and the Rokkit uses the Big Mekanikus's Ballistic skill to determine if it hits. On a roll of 3 or 4 two Seeker Rokkits are fired and since the markerlight is active, one of the Rokkits is rolled at ballistic skill 5 while the other uses the Big Mekanicus's Ballistic skill. On a roll of 5, two Rokkits are fired and they both use Ballistic Skill 5. On a roll of 6, all Seeker Rokkits are fired at Ballistic Skill 5 and ignore the Obscured Vehicles rule. This may be taken in the place of a choppa.

40 Points

Ion Shoota Ding: After aquiring a special issue Tau weapon system from Warboss 'Eadskorcha that was pried off of a Command Suit, the Big Mekanikus decides that, in spite of the potential firepower of the weapon, it needs more dakka! The system's original ability to punch through armor makes way for an amazing ability to make explosions happen. This may be taken in place of a Slugga.

Range-18" S-3 AP-5 Type-Heavy 5, Barrage, Blast

30 Points

Snakey Choppa: Made from the servo arm of a Techmarine combined with a grissly choppa, the Snakey Choppa is a wildly unpredictable and dangerous close quarters battle weapon. Perhaps if the Big Mekanikus had taken the time to wire the Servo Arm to himself instead of a Snotling that survived his experimentations with a Shokk Attack Gun, the weapon would be more consistent. Counts as a powerklaw, but roll d3 to determine the initiative of the attacks to represent the flailing of the Servo Arm. Replaces the choppa.

I haven't got any any good ideas towards his background, so any background ideas along with criticism and comments are appreciated.

Also, 1500 point game limit would probably be a good idea.

Don't let the burna gun fire as both a burna & a skorcha at the same time, this is a little OP.

Also I'd remove the singling out of IG. Fluffy, maybe, but it makes for bad game mechanics wouldn't Orks / DE / Eldar guardians / Kroot burn just as well?

I would say anything under a 4+ save or something they can reroll on because scouts dont seem that fireproof

the Meganobs should be able to take Scorchas instead, for more points of course. it just makes more sense for big, power armored Nobs to be able to carry heavier weapons. Just saying.

The Big Mekanikus rule needs a bit of rewording but is pretty neat.

I dunno about the Burnin' Fist honeslty...it's not overpowered as it is just kinda odd.

Other than that it looks pretty good!

Time ta make sometin' fun!

An idea for the Big Mekanikus:

Instead of Burnin' Fist, how about an Orkfernus Slugga?

Orkfernus Slugga: There are few Infernus Pistols left in the Imperium, and now there is one fewer thanks to the Big Meks in Warboss 'Eadskorcha's warband. Modified to make a near continuous stream of plasma pour forth, 'eadskorcha only pulls this weapon out for the biggest of targets that he doesn't think will care when they are burned with the Da Burna Gun. If firing at a Monsterous Creature within 12 inches, Warboss 'Eadskorcha uses the following weapon profile.

Range-12 S-7 AP-1 Type-Assault 2

When Assaulting a Monsterous Creature, Warboss 'Eadskorcha gains +1 Attacks in order to represent his use of both of these weapons when attacking one.

The invulnerablility to all flame/heat/melta attacks seems pretty OP to me. and the burnin fist just seems idk out of place.

Perhaps a 4+ save on all heat/melta attacks would be more fair?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
An even better idea might be that he isn't immune to melta, but because he is fireproof by most standards, the player fielding his is allowed to shoot burnas and skorchas at him and whatever he is fighting as long as he isn't fighting along with other friendly units.

By fighting, I mean assaulting.

I agree that the Burnin' Fist was out of place, so maybe the best idea would just be to eliminate all of that business and the Orkfernus Pistol. But would that make him Overpriced?

So, how does he look now?
