so this is the first fully painted figure in my space marines army so please constructive crittism is welcome.

Might be the quality of the photo, but your paint looks like it's been applied a bit too thick. Try thinning them out with a bit of water, or putting less onto the brush. I can also detect mold lines on the model; scraping them away with a hobby knife before applying paint on models will go a long way in making them look like psychotic superhumans desperate to shed blood instead of little plastic models.

Also, speaking of photos, try to just take them on a piece of blank white paper or something. Textured backgrounds like the carpet you've got there tend to create the illusion of distorting the model's silhouette and outline.

Nice work, though. I'm liking the color scheme.

Thanks for the feed back yeah the paints a bit thick but im no good at watering my paint also i for got the mold lines so thanks for noticing. also like I said I will be putting up pics of a flesh tearer which is what i9 was going to make these guys at first ,and I'll put up a pic or two of my orks as well. As a tip: A grey or light blue background will give better results than the white, which tends to make the minis dark.

And propping the camera on something steady and using the timer will help make the pics less blurry.

Unlike most people's first marine models, these aren't wretched - good job.

The only problems are generic newbie problems: forgetting to clean mould lines, applying to thick of a layer of paint, not undercoating (which will help with the thickness problem), etc.

With the first marine, I can make a few more specific suggestions. The first is that you really should have the gem that is the blood drop a different color from the rest of the armor. As well, the power weapon would look better painted a solid color with some highlighting rather than silver with one-color lightning streaking across it. As such, I'd either go for a metallic color, or go for a disruption field color that is different from your regular armor color, such as green.

Thanks for the comments the blood drop is a differnt color The armor is black the drop is blue and I'll try that out on the weapon thanks again.

Thin the paints, breathe slower, and don't attempt to do unique power weapon stuff until you've at least mastered the basics highlighting and shadowing. May want to consider a smaller brush. Definetly put time into learning how to wash and drybrush. Don't be afraid to paint in layers, and learn to be more patient.

You show the effort, but you lack the skill and technique. Learn to be more patient, and you'll develop your skills very quickly.

Thanks I worked real hard on that also I will be putting up the first four gaurds men out of one of my vet squads.
