Last week I received my copy of Lost Planet 2. I was really looking forward to this game but so far I'm not really impressed.
The shooter mechanics still feel a bit clunky compared to other 3rd-Person Shooters like Gears or Mass Effect. Also, this is basically a pure Multiplayer. You can play the campaign with AI Teammates but it's really boring since you can't really invest yourself in the characters.

Since my buddy hasn't got his own copy yet I tried the competitive Multiplayer a few times but I usually get slaughtered by pretty much everybody else and so I can't earn any points to gain ranks and get new powers and body parts.

Forever alone

It seems that it hasn't gotten particularly good scores from several reviewers. It's a real shame, too, as I really enjoyed Extreme Conditions.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I haven't read any reviews. I want to write one myself.

I like this but it is definatly co-op im doing it by myself and the mission i'm is impossible on my own (3-3) as you can't react quick enough with one person

hit me up in live though if you want a game GT is same as username

I think some of the bad reviews were pretty much dead on. Excerpt:

"The controls remains as clunky as they were last time around, and deviate from the standard third person layout in perplexing ways. Want to melee? That's the B button. Want to run? Well, that's also the B button. Want to activate that data post or Vital Suit? We've got a B button for that. The grappling hook (or anchor) can still only be used with feet planted firmly on the ground, and your character jumps like their pockets are full of rocks. Every animation is over-emphasized to the point of getting in the way of playing the game. Even worse, you'll often be forced to endure agonizing waits as you hammer the B or circle buttons at data posts, or impatiently sit in a Vital Suit while it goes through an activation sequence that repeats every time you enter it. Lost Planet 2 is fixated on elaborate activation sequences, and there's generally at least one section per chapter that forces you to wade through some kind of convoluted Rube Goldberg machine in order to complete your objective - that is, when the game is good enough to tell you how you're supposed to complete that objective in the first place."

Oh well. Glad I just played the demo.

I thought that the demo was pretty fun, and the first game was pretty fun, but then they added in that I-got-shot-so-I-am-just-going-to-sit-here-and-let-myself-get-shot-at stun, which completely killed it for me....

I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

I just played the entire first episode with a friend and it really works much better if you have a partner bu tBlackbone's post pretty much hits the spot.

Also: who uses the 90° turn on the bumpers?

The Campaign can be really good, but you need a few buddies to enjoy it. There's one level where you need at least 2 guys to load, maintain, aim and fire a really big gun.
