On topic, love this guys artwork. My favorite so far is his rendition of Leman Russ, although I await Corax with baited breath.

I have a lot of respect for this person. His depiction of Mortarion was especially ambitious, but I think he really managed to capture the kind of terrifying majesty of the primarch of death.

Okay, while I admire the guy's ambition his art isn't so great and the usual outpouring of untempered praise (esp. on B&CS) is getting to me. Fulgrim is the only one that doesn't look kind of awkward, TBH. Sometimes enthusiasm for the subject matter eclipses objective appraisal. While there are many good ideas for the primarch's armor, much of it looks decidedly un-40/k (what are all these 90s comic book style glowing circles?). Their faces, meanwhile, are nearly comical. I know they aren't meant to be realistic but this artist's animation style fails to do what realism sometimes holds up--i.e., convey spontaneous expression and personality. It's good but hardly "breathtaking."

He's a great artist. Really gets those of us who are sitting on the fence on WH40k to jump down and start playing. It's reall inspiring work, though not my favourite works of the WH40k universe, it's still up there and I hope he posts more.

I think he has a style similar to Blanche's, you either love it or hate it there's no in between.

My criticism is that Alpharius was meant to be olive skinned IIRC.

I like his Art style, and think those are pretty neat. I hope he does the Daemon Prince versions soon!

I get what you're saying Manchu, the glowing circles are probably one of the few gripes I have with his art. The main reason, that I have, that most people blindly adore his art is because, their isn't much art out there for WH40k. Granted the number of art is in the hundreds maybe thousands, it can hardly be compared to many other genres out there. I think the fact that the art is "new-er" and the fact that their are many young players out there also play into this.

either that or i have no idea what i'm talking about. It took me forever to find his work and I just gave up looking for more art after that. Maybe by his work more people will be influenced to do more.

I'm a big fan of Aerion's work. I'm particularly fond of his rendition of Vulkan.

I really want him to do Angron, though...he's the only one of the 4 main traitor legions that hasn't been done, and he happens to be my favorite Primarch.

Its interesting that if you look at his work, Aerion always faces the loyalist Primarchs left and the traitors right. Here we have both...

I really like his Vulcan. The guy actually looks nice, serious, and regal.

Same with his Dorn.

It's the faces that does it; Dorn and Vulcan have really nice and unique faces.
