Okay, so they ammended the ally rules for DH/WH. Looking at that list, would you say that there is no longer any need to buy the infantry platoons to unlock a LR squadron or sentinel squadron? Technically speaking, the codex mentions a 0-1 Leman Russ requiring a platoon, while the Ard Boyz rules say nothing about needing platoons or whatever a "Leman Russ" is.
Second question: I know the verdict is still out on the Drop pods, but what does the general consensus say on if deep striking units count as 3 KP or not.

With the wording on the 3kp, its based on if the unit can move more than 6" in any given phase of the game turn. It is looking like, deep strikers are the exception, unless they can move more than 6" in a turn...for example: A Space Marine Assault Squad can deep strike with Jump Packs, they can also move 12" in the movement phase, therefore they qualify for the 3kp rule. Or: Terminator squad deep strikes, can only move 6" max in any phase, they do not qualify for the 3kp.

Because the libby moves up to 24" from his starting position.
Infantry do not count as moving ANY distance when they deepstrike, they just HAVE moved and therefore do not give 3KP.

That is because the model can move from point A to anywhere on the table within 24". It's not because it is deep striking, it is because it has the potential to move from A-B and the max distance is 24"

On Dakka he was Eldanar. In our area, he was Lee. R.I.P., Lee Guthrie. |

No.
Ard Boyz wrote:Inquisitorial armies may take Imperial Guard and Space Marine allies, chosen from the latest versions of their codices. As both of these codices have changed recently, use the following amendments to the list on pg 30-31 of the Daemon Hunters book and page 26 of the Witch Hunters book:
Amendments. This does not change the basic rules of allies for WH/ DH, just as them not listing that you can only take 0-1 HQ, etc does not remove that requirement. It only changes which allies are legal choices since the codexes have changed. Specific trumps broad. In this case, Codex trumps 'Ard Boyz for Requirements while 'Ard Boyz trumps Codex for unit names.
Hope that helps.
