Im currently deployed in afghanistan and i found out you can get a internet connection out here thats not half bad, my last deployment i was outside the wire alot so i never knew about it.

I was thinking of starting aoc since theres a new expansion or something.
i did the wow scene, loved it, still have my account active but just can't play that game anymore, want to start something else for while im gone

anyone have any suggestions? mainly people whove recently played it since games get better after awhile with patches and such

I tried it, not enough Arnold. It was fun to run around topless though.

Avoid it at all costs, dull and full of bugs last time I played it

so stay away huh? what about the xpac that just came out?

any mmo's you guys recomend then? aion? i will never play wow so....

If you want to play, then play.

There's not been any real issues with the game since they fixed the 'big' issues about 5 months after release.
Any issues still in the game are the same ones you'd see in WoW(class balance, etc).

im justlooking for a fun game to play where theres people actually still playing it

i used to play warhammer online but everyone left....

just wanting to have some fun with an easy to get into game that i dont have to spend a TON of time playing

It is a shame about warhammer, the pvp fort raids were a lot of fun.

Seconded they were, it's a shame it just didn't have the legs to be a good game, there's not many good mmo's out at the moment.

I played AoC at launch, had a lot of fun with it but when I logged back in when they did one of those 'play for free' weeks i immediately lost interest again.

as others have said.. avoid Conan.. its not that good was fun at launch.. but thats about it


Next star wars mmo.. and next Final Fantasy mmo is going to be nice.

An expansion for AoC was just released adding in a whole new continent and other content.

thread necro i know... but I have somewhat recently picked up playing AoC, and so far the experience is great.

The game play has its own quirks (abilities typically are combo based, particularly for melee fighter types)

its deep, the things available to you are on par (at least) with WoW, as far as crafting, pvp, and questing goes.

the graphics are top notch.

Best of all.. there are rarely 12 year old, whiny children about!!
