so ive reached a proublem. how to kill a monolith. thier are only 3 ways carnifex zoanthrope or tyranofex.
does anyone have any other ideas.
since i playd a game against 2 monoliths in 1000pts
he killed my zoanthropes and had nothing else to kill them
he hid in a corner playing kill pts as i couldnt see his troops through his monoliths nor could i hurt his monoliths.

First...spelling check please.
Second...phase out? 2 monoliths in 1k. Victory should have been yours before the game began.

Why didn't you just sit back and laugh at him as he hid in a corner. You didn't have to come to him and making him need to come to you would open his shield and allow you to kill him.

Exactly...you could have forced a draw at the very least.

I'm sure you could have seen at least a few of his models to shoot. He would have had cover, but you could still shoot at him.

Or (you said he was hiding in a corner?) outflank some genestealers(2 units would be preferable...more if you have em...my buddy always uses 3 to 4)...my necrons fight (and mostly lose to) nids all the time! Those genestealers will eat them alive!

Diligently behind a rifle...

Don't let an immobile army beat you. Just swarm over his (@1000 pts) obviously small contingent of infantry. The lord is a formidable opponent, but he will die when enough claws and talons rend his little machine body apart. The Carnifex shouldn't be bothered by anything except Heavy Destroyers or particle whip.

Ok, so he backed himself into a corner and destroyed your zoanthropes. Next game take 2 units of 3 in spods, a trygon and some cheap troops w/ an HQ. Chances are once 1 monolith is gone phase out is inevitable. At 1k he would have very little over his min 1HQ and 2 troops with 2 monoliths.

Use zoanthropes, their str 10 Ap 1 lance attack should do it and two monoliths at 1000pts ? There should be no problem phasing him out.

Regardless of what the necron player fields, as a tyranid player i *always* go for the phase out. All their good stuff can be ignored if you just focus on their warriors and such. If you don't play against necrons very often, make sure your opponent tells you which of his unit types have the 'necron' special rule and count for phase-out. Also know how many you have to *kill* and keep a tally so you can call him out when the last one falls down.

Necrons do not get a chance to WBB if they dip below phase out, since it happens at the start of the next turn (which never occurs).

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

This is incorrect phase out is determined at the beginning of the Necron turn after we'll be back rolls.

Also a tyrannofex with a rupture cannon can put a hurt on necrons and t6 2+ is going to be extremly hard for the necron player to kill.
