Does anyone have any top tips for Cheap models, i have read that simple green and white metal works well.

Anyone have any advice of how to pick up cheap miniatures without giving all your money to Games Workshop Undivided.

Ebay works great, even if it's a bit random. Sometimes shops sell on consignment but they're pretty hit and miss.

I've actually had really good luck with the Swap Shop boards here. There have been some rip-off artists that float things, but if you avoid folks with a low post count or deals that are too good to be true it seems like it works out just fine. /knockonwood

Simple green sorta works. I've had mixed success with it. I find that with plastic it's usually just easier to pick a paint scheme that works with what's already been done to the mini and just paint over the sucker.

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

Depends on what really old models.

I mean, the BA just had the really old models rereleased.
Tycho, Dante, MeFabio.

Still, MeFabio is at least a Jes Goodwin sculpt, and very few of his pieces have been redone by anyone else.

I've had reasonably good luck with ebay. Lots of sellers match the 20% off GW prices that the better webstores boast, often with free shipping. No boxes, much of the time, but you get the full sprues (cuts down on cost - I'll forgo a box to get free shipping). Other times you can find great deals on full/partial squads, huge lots, or single models, although they may need a little love to resuscitate. Just have to make sure you have clear pictures to make sure of what you're getting. There are trustworthy, high-traffic sellers that are always a safe buy, but the really good deals are the one-off, clearing out the basement kind of sales. A bit riskier, but if you luck out, you'll never find a better deal.

If you like Imperial Guard or Death Corps Krieg you can get these for under $1 each.
Then get some gun bits off ebay for some variety and some backpacks er diffrent heads from pig iron.

Cheers guys,
Did a £50 OOP Miniature order on Swap, just arrived and it was stonking. The guys threw in lots of extras, I got the old style TERMIE Captain with AUX Grenade Launcher on the power fist (SWEET) plus the Old Librarian, 10 other Termies from the Good'ol days. He also added in 15 x Metal SM Scouts, a mix of Bolters and Knife plus bolt pistol, plus a New Termie Captain and a Mk5 Power Armour Captain (Really Really sweet!).

Does anyone know if you can pickup Simple Green on the High street in the UK, i don't really want to order litres of industrial chemicals off a website and turn my hobby room in to something that makes my wife think i've started cutting coke to finance my FORGEWORLD addiction..
