I wanna join my gaming group and start an Ancients army, the Spartans! Whose minis should I use Gorgon Studios http://www.gorgon-studios.com/shoppe/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_10&products_id=39 or Warlord's http://www.warlordgames.co.uk/?p=5752???

Also, are rules for this army included in the new Ancients Book by Forgeworld?

My understanding is that the Warhammer Ancients 2 only had full army lists for Early Imperial Romans and Barbarians. There are sample lists for other armies, but not "army lists" per se. You can probably pick up the old supplements, like Armies of Antiquity which have the Ancient Greek list in it. They're still useable under the new edition.

As far as miniatures, I'd also point you to Immortal Miniatures (*edit - these are the ones you listed as "Warlord's", Warlord is apparently selling Immortal's product)

They have a new plastic Hoplite set, which could be done as Spartans, and also some Spartan minis.

Also, Victrix is making a plastic set of Hoplites which will have Greek and Spartan options, iirc. The 3 ups were shown at Salute in the UK this year, and looked 'very' good. I can't find the pics now.

They mention their ancient greek range (coming in Sept), but no pics.

Good luck!

Correct.

No one seems to know the plans for supplements, now that the operation has been moved under Forgeworld.

Like I said, finding the current supplements on ebay or bartertown might not be that difficult.

Both the War Store and Scale Creep have the Immortal plastics up for pre-order. If you can wait a few weeks, you can buy domestic avoid international shipping.

The Gorgon Spartan metals are regarded as a very well done line of figures & come recommend by a lot of people. (I'm friends with the owners - take my advice as you will.)

As for the list - see if you can get a cheap copy of the old rule book, or a copy of the old army list - its all of 2 pages. That should hold you over until the Greek army book comes out..... sometime in the next year or 2.
