hey guys I am almost done with my custome mephiston lord of death model and I am pretty pleased with how its turning out. what do you think so far?

it looks great man. The blade is fantastic. Its Mephiston by the way. Also watch out for the mold lines but great job overall man.

Nice to see it retained lots of the original model's features, except its lame pose.

thanks for the comments and the spell check lol fixed it I'm planning on priming him up tomorrow and there will be more pics up soon

alright so here are the bits needed to make this model
- head from sanguinary guard
-chest piece from sanguinary guard
-sword from sanguinary guard
-plasma pistol from assault marines
-back pack from the death company box
-assault marine legs
-skulls from the vampire counts skeleten warriors box.
and the skull shoulder pad is from the fantasy chaos knights box.
and of course some green stuff.

I know you are trying to keep continuity with the original model, but the collar skulls were goofy as hell on the original, don't make the same mistake!

You can make a lot of changes, but without the muscle armor style and the longer hair, it will not scream Mephiston, those, to me, are the 2 things that need to be there to make the model recognizable.

hmm ya I thought of the long hair and I tried it out on anouther head and but no dice I kinda like mephiston with shorter hair .
but here is the question what color to do the flames normal or blue?

Frankly either one would work, complementary or contrasting color. Blue would be cool as long as the rest of the model were very dominantly red, not neccesarily the same tone.

If you check out the link in my sig, the last model I did had a very, very blue powersword, I actually quite like the contrast.

wow major tom cool stuff I do like the blue for power swords but I am not to sure about the flames Ill test both out and put up some pics but here is my other question.
after playing a couple games with mephiston today I seem to always use the wings so I thought why not give him a big pair of raven wings!
I would paint them black with very bright red highlights on the edges of the feathers.
so heres the model with the wings

I would go for the wings.

oh thanks sorry I haven't posted up a finished pick of the model yet I had to strip the white primer off because it started to clump up around his face and that was unacceptable.
