Like the title says, I'm a UK WH40K player, and I'm looking for a miniature bag/case to store and transport my rapidly expanding Guard force. I'd like something like the Battlefoam bags that could be easily transported in London's public transport system, but as far as I can find they're not sold here. Has anyone got one of these? Can they recommend them, or suggest an alternative?

Cheers

Don

From their website: "We are extremely proud to announce that Wayland Games is now the European Battlefoam distributor."

Battlefoam looks good, but I'm a big Kaiser Rushforth fan.

They even have cusom cut foam trays for guard. They're much cheaper than Battlefoam, but perhaps not quite as good.
I've never used BF, but I DO use KR, and I love them.

Another vote for KR cases. I only wish I discovered them sooner so as to never have got GW cases.

I am planning to sell off my GW cases on EBay and buy KR boxes to replace them.

Although I like my KR case, I found that the foamy lining of the case itself was poorly glued in place and started to come unstuck fairly shortly after I received it.

Anyone else find that to be the case?

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

I've never had that, is that the aluminium case?

I only have one and never had problems. Obviously the card cases I have from them aren't affected.

Stupid question time I'm afraid folks.

Those Battlefoam trays, do they fit into standard GW cases? I prefer the solid box, but could do with rather more flexible trays.

Not the ordinary ones, but IIRC they do have a line made specifically for GW cases rather than their own.

The aluminium case is more sturdy than the GW ones I have though.

Thankfully my cases rarely get knocked about, so not too worried about replacing those, just the foam.

How can I tell if I'm ordering the right ones? Thinking of some pick and pluck foamage rather than custom stuff.

Looking at the KR custom trays and they seem good...

But i cannot find anywhere that lists there dimensions? I have an old ammunition box, which i want to put the foam trays in for my tanks, but cant find the dimensions of the Valkyrie plus 4 tanks tray...

Yeah, my KR Aluminium one is proper solid. Plus it looks cooler than being a walking billboard for GW!

I'm also a KR Case fan. MUCH cheaper than the battlefoam system, and just as customisable. They basically sell cardboard cases which are slightly smaller than a GW case but holds more models (because of the different foam cuts). They also sell aluminium versions, which are a bit bigger, or carrybags for the card ones.

I have one or two of their basic card cases per army (depending on how big the army is), and one of their Kaiser 2 carrybags to transport whichever army i choose around the tube system...

Their website can be pretty confusing!! Battlefoam and KR both make their own trays and trays to fit GW cases - you don't get all the customisable options if you go with the GW-size ones though. The best source for the Battlefoam info is the Wayland site, but if you're looking at the KR stuff, then...

Here's the dimensions of the basic trays (that fit THEIR cases).. http://www.krmulticase.co.uk/dimensions.html

And here's the trays that fit the GW cases - http://www.krmulticase.co.uk/trays360x265uk.html

I use a mish mash of stuff. Some army transport, some GW cases, some cardboard cases that used to transport PCB's. Its all good. I dont care to invest the money yet to go for all one system. I MIGHT do battlefoam if I do. I have seen the cases and they are really good. I will never get completely away from the GW hard cases as I use them when I travel.

Take the advice of everyone who recommended a KR case. Nicely priced and great quality from what I've seen.

OP,

feel free to call the Wayland Warehouse or if you are in Essesxpop to the shop and someone can walk you through all the case options.

Everyone in the warehouse has ended up with Battlefoam rather than alternates if that helps. And Paul (yes I know you will read this) has got 2 Warmchine bags... no paul you cant have another one.
