Just curious how others paint there armies 40k or Fantasy just apply inserted words that you need to.

I normally assemble everything in the army and prime it.

Then I paint 3 colors on everything not worrying about if paint hits a place its not suppose to and base (Flock ect) the army. So at least you don't have a primed army on the table or pewter and it has the 3 foot painted appearence while you play a game.

Then start with the Independant Characters/Elites - Troops Squad by Squad - then Vehicles last and go in, paint details/corrections/decals ect.

So thats how I paint an army, just curious for feedback from the community on how you paint an army.

Thanks

I paint whatever I feel like, or whatever I'll need soon. I try not to have anything assembled aside from my next project though. The more unpainted plastic I have, the more intimidated I get. I'll generally take one squad, build them, prime them, then paint them before moving onto the next.

With vehicles, I pick out what bitz I want to use, place all of the parts onto a paper plate and spray them with my colored primer. When they are dry I assemble the model, first painting things that would be difficult to paint otherwise. For example, I always paint crew before gluing them into the vehicle.

For squads, I usually like to assemble them, spray them, then paint them all in a stage-by-stage fashion. The level of completed-ness for all members of the squad are the same.
