So, apparently Dark Angels follow the organisational structure of the Codex Astartes barring their specialist 1st and 2nd companies.

Looking through the codex, I see that there are both DA Green and Bone-coloured Land Raiders: But according to the Codex Astartes, Land Raiders are only to be used as dedicated transports for the 1st company, thus, surely they should *all* be Bone White?

I just wanted to see some Dakkaite's opinions on this... I'll probably be painting mine Bone White as it's for usage as a transport for my terminators.

I also wanted to know how people would paint a Dark Angel Land Raider's vehicle crew, since they're not illustrated in the codex as far as I can see... Rhinos and such I would paint like their company, but are Land Raider crew members in bleached armour? I may just take the safe route and paint them as tech marines with green shoulder pads.

actually the drivers of vehicles have their armor in chapter colors and their Shoulder pads are red.

Would you make Deathwing Drivers bleached bone then? As, unlike most vehicles, they aren't temporarily attached but PERMANENTLY attached to the 1st Company? Assuming the same crew always drives the same vehicle ofc.

I paint them Red. As tech marine.

I guess you could argue that they're pretty important vehicles... you would want to trust them with the competent...

AFAIK, normal land raiders can be used by all companies (besides ravenwing ofcourse), while LR crusaders are more for deathwing

Dedicated vehicles would be painted in the passengers colors and heraldry. Like 'personal' LR of a chapter master.

Land Raiders in general are part of the arsenal and its up to the chapter master who gets to ride in them.
So Codex = dedicated LR = 1st co is true.
Still those non-dedicated LR youre able to field ( as HS ) are always painted in the chapters colors.
So Codex = arsenal LR = choice of the CM is also true.
The difference is the access to them.
1st co may have them as daily ride. Others need their CM consent.

Deathwing LR are 1st co LR.
A LR from the arsenal would run the standard DA colors.

I'll just have to paint it before all my games ;P

According to the organizational guidelines laid down by the Codex Astartes, the Land Raider is only used by the 1st Company of a Space Marine chapter. However, some less orthodox chapters are known to use it more widely.

I always imagined them to be white for the dedicated transports for the first company, but i have green LR's for hvy spt choice for my normal dangles
