Me and a few guys I play with are desperate to find more players near us. We're relativly experienced but are humble enough to learn.

The only problem with that is, we dont know where to look in Columbus. I really dont have any ideas other than to call every gaming shop there. And I'm just too plan ass lazy to do that.

Look at the Guard Tower in Columbus. They have lots of tables and an impressive amount of terrain. Friendly people as well. I don't get to play there as often as I like, but it is a great place.

Check out "40k basement.com" they have a section that covers all Columbus area tournaments and events. Also isn't there a game store in Athens?

Athens is close to two hours away. I honestly dont have the patience to drive 2 hours to a store to play one game then drive 2 hours home.

Well, if you are too lazy to even bother calling game stores this may not help, but Bookery in Fairborn and KrystalKeep in Kettering are 1:13 to 1:19 travel time from Chillicothe. That's using the map engines, so it's probably shorter than that if you are willing to go ten over the limit.

I feel that these are the two nicest and cleanest game stores in the tri-state area, and they have a strong 40k community. They run events almost every weekend, and you could play there all day on Saturdays with a new opponent every game. Just be prepared for some schooling, some of the best players around do business there...

Its not that im too lazy to call a store close. Its the fact that id have to call 20-30+shops. Ask if they play 40k. What day/time ect. It really is a lot of work, considering even in columbus it can be a 95 minute drive. If there are stores that I know of, I'll call them. But it isnt worth all that hassle and a hour and half drive to go one way

You've been given a list of stores already, so calling 95 different stores isn't a needed. thing. You could always use GW's store locator and just go from there.... or you could start with the store finder, and narrow your search to a store with a forum so you have some chance of actually FINDING a game.

Locating a new game store is a chore, but if you're not willing to put in the work, then you deserve exactly what you get.

Come over to Dayton some Saturday. KrystalKeep has forums and event announcement on their website - http://www.krystalkeep.com/

I'ts worth it to experience the store all by itself, but there should also be anywhere from 10 to 25 40K players there every Saturday unless there is a con or tourney elsewhere.

That's all find and dandy. What i was talking about was BEFORE there was a list of places. I will not call 2363453214567 stores to find out if they play 40k. I simply dont have the time. Some people do work for a living, and have other responsibilitys than to call every store in Ohio. Now my group needs to talk about how far we are willing/want to drive for a gameday. After that, we'll start making calls. No point to call dayton or columbus if no one else wants to go that far for a 40k game or two.

I know its been a while since this thread was posted, but i was wondering if anyone in chillicothe was still playing. I used to play growing up but have not played in years. I have thought about getting back into 40k but i don"t know weather it will be worth it or not. I know there are tons of places to play the game within an hour of chillicothe, but i don"t have the time to travel and play due to work. If anyone around is still playing let me know!

I just moved to portsmouth, and am looking for a game.

When I first saw your post I got it confused with chesapeake and was wondering why you weren't playing with the group over in Ashland. Lol.

Eventually I would like to see if th local library has a room for use one saturday a month for gaming.

On the other hand, when I was working up in Lancaster I saw a shop with a big warhammer sign on it, it's not too far from you an that shop is on the main drag by the Kroger and Wals-Mort. A 40 minute drive every now and the to get in a game isn't a bad thing.

I don't have a problem with traveling, nor am I to lazy to do it. I just have major time restrictions most of the year due to the work that i do. I was just trying to find a place close and Lancaster might be close enough for a once a month or so game. I was just maybe hoping to try and find some people in or around Chillicothe that played. You know, for a quick weekend game or two.

Hmm, I work a HARD 40 hour week. I don't have a lot of time for gaming either, but I could find a Saturday afternoon every month or six weeks if I had a place and person to ply with.
What I am getting at is that we are able to do what we want to do, so what do you want to do?

Have you tried checking out the History store on Paint St. I've never been, but it might be a start. Or you could talk to soje of the guys at the local GameStop they might be into the tabletop as well as video games or know someone who is.

You know, i never thought of trying the Game Stop here. That probably would be a good place to start looking. xraytango, do you live in the area? you seem to know chilli pretty well. I'm sure that i will be able to get to Lancaster once before spring starts. If you wanna try to get together and play a game or so let me know.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
NVM xraytango, i just realized that you were the guy from Poutrsmouth. Offer is still open though. Maybe we can find somewhere roughly in between us to play.

Keep comms open, I saw a posting for someone else here in P'mouth that was looking for a game.

FYI I work with a fellow who drives down here from Waverly everyday, if he can do that, you might be able to make it down here for a game sometime. I would like to see what the local library has in the way of community rooms before I get too excited.
