OK, I've collected GW armies for about... 12 years now (half my life), and I still have never owned a painted army. I don't think I've even been able to string together 500 points which made up a legal army before...

This blog is me trying to solve this problem.

I have three armies on the go at the moment - the Great Company of Brion Thunderclaw (Space Wolves), the Haloran Guard (Imperial Guard), and Dragzhâg's Goblin Horde (Moria Goblins). Of these, I currently have a grand total of five models fully painted and based.

Firstly, these are my army shelves:

I did have the colour scheme for my armies here, but they kinda fill up the screen, so I'm replacing it with a "to-do" list:

Space Wolves:
10 Grey Hunters - Flamer & Tooled Up
10 Grey Hunters - Plasma
5 Grey Hunters - Flamer
5 Wolf Scouts
8 Wolf Guard
Lone Wolf
Wolf Lord in Terminator Armour
Wolf Lord on Thunderwolf
Wolf Priest
Rune Priest with Chooser
Wolf Guard Battle Leader
6 Long Fangs - Las & Missile
6 Long Fangs - Plas & Missile

Imperial Guard:
Company Command Squad
Platoon Command Squad
Infantry Squad
Various Heavy Weapons teams
Veteran Squad
Psyker Battle Squad
Markissen (Marbo stand-in)
Chimera
Leman Russ
2 Scout Sentinels

Moria Goblins:
8 Goblins with Spears
8 Goblins with Bows
4 Goblin Prowlers
3 Goblin Captains
1 Goblin Shaman
2 Giant Bat Swarms
1 Cave Troll

And a "done" list:

Space Wolves:
Nothing.

Imperial Guard:
Infantry Squad

Moria Goblins:
8 Goblins with Shields

I'm painting for a minimum of half an hour a day until all three armies are painted to a reasonable size - 1000 pts Guard and Wolves, 500 pts Goblins.

Goal for the next three days: Base the Guard squad, start the second Squad.

Guard - photo is too dark to tell.

Goblins - the one on the right for me. Left is too vivid green and starts looking like warhammer instead of LotR.

OK, I've already doubled my numbers! I now have a full 8 Moria Goblins with Shields painted.

I'm also updating the first post with a painting schedule and a list of what needs to be done.

Pics to come - I intend to post every two or three days with progress, and do pics of the painted figures once a week.

I've been off sick the past couple of days, which sucks, but it does mean I've had time to do a little painting.

Aside from basing and adding squad markings, I've now finished the first Guard squad - note they have a Mortar instead of an Autocannon. This is purely due to the models I had part-painted from the initial scheme test.

I've also taken a quick pic of the Goblins:

Unfortunately, the pics don't seem to have come out too great - I'm gonna play around with camera settings and the backdrop to see if I can get a few better pics in the future.

It's a unique color scheme, but the look like they have rain boots on. Sorry. More shading and highlighting would help, I bet.
