I just do not get it! Whenever I play a looted Wagon ESPECIALLY against Marines and their Equivalents and anything else on foot for that matter...besides mega nobs and termi's of course!
I do wonders with it! Rarely I get Don't press that and my death count is A LOT more then what Big Mek with Shock attack guns EVER could. Armor is light but with keeping the looted wagon
behind and sending in my mega nobs, Deff Kopters etc, Because people seem to think so lowly of the humble Looted wagon thinking it wont do anything the entire game and they can just pop it at anytime they see fit with no worries. I do devastating damage or at least have it do a little clean up work before I assault. I keep hearing players especially ones who try and use the whole I have been playing Orks for ten years so shut it attitude with me saying how it sucks including some you guys.

The looted Wagon gives me a great weapon that costs almost nothing compared to some other stuff and offers a heavy support choice I can just throw in when I dont know what else to use. The Battle wagon is great and I will use them too for Mega Nob type armies but I really like the looted wagon and I do very well with it. It upsets me so much when people say my list is gak because I field them and I do a great job with the ONE Looted wagon I made out of spare bits and crap...I mean the boom gun on that thing is just a Tau Stealth suit burst cannon without the tip added on and another burst cannon from a ship for the big shoota.

Other than missing shots once out of every two or three times as it is with all ork shooting. I just use it as a sit back and fire the boom gun and Its a great addition as point fillers for my army.
If I could I would make two more and build a list that would compliment them. I am not saying they are the BEST but I just wish people would realize how good they are when you build a list where a Deff Dread and cans wont do well and you need something simple for a good point filler. As a final note to further my liking to them.

OK........ Someone LIKES looted wagons.

Dont feel bad, I have one too *never fielded it tho*
Its a Falcon with some Terminator toy parts in the place of the turret with two grots driving/gunning.... probably need to add treads tho seein how Orks dont have skimmers.

I made one for the wife out of a panzer kampwagon model I bought for ~$10 added some ork Glyphs, an Ork biker steel bull head faring on the cannon, an AC barrel in place of the Machine gun port on the front facing(as a Big Shoota) and stuck an Ork Torso holding a big shoota in the Cupola area, gave it a Red Paint Job and some checks and Dags and it looks great in her list.

She Adores it. It is the only thing in her list that can take out my Crusader at range and it tears apart swathes of my Guard.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

Yeah they're not horrible. Cheap and cheerful high str low ap ordnance. It'll kill stuff that might be a threat to you in cc and for orks its got good range and is fairly reliable.

But it uses up a HS slot which denies another wagon or kan, which already doesn't endear it to most ork players (although if you're running a B-Wagon list you probably have 1 slot free to squeeze in some armoured fire support). It has don't press dat which means it won't work for you one turn out of the game and it has paper thin armour.

I've used one a few times and it either killed its pts back prior to opponent's retaliating against it, died before it got to fire because opponent's feared it or did something funky with don't press dat and died.

There are worse things to spend a 100 or so pts on but it isn't very effective for its points and isn't essential to a good list.

It rapes MEQs, no doubt. But you can get better stuff in a HS slot.

I've been using one for a while, and it's actually pulled me out of some tough spots. It wasn't fun to paint though - then again, I think I'm just a little tired of painting Orks after 2000 points of the buggers:

Let me start by saying that I would never take a Looted Wagon as a troop transport (like, say, a rhino) simply because Trukks or Battlewagons do it much better, so let's talk about Looted Wagons as what we all know they are; a Boomgun Delivery Device.

The Boomgun is a solid gun; 36" STR8, AP3, Large Blast, Ordnance 1. There's a decent chance it's firing from turn 1 on, and it's probably doing damage to whatever it touches. But that's a pretty hefty point investment. You're gonna want that 'Ard Case, and Red Paint Job, and Armour Plates, and maybe some Grot Riggers, and by now you're looking at 135 points for something with 11-11-10 armour and a random effect that makes it useless for a turn. On the other hand, that weapon is a beast and it's fairly reliable.

In my opinion, the Looted Wagon is actually a pretty solid tank for low point value games, like 750 or less. Once you start moving into higher point values, Killa Kans and Battlewagons sort of start to take the spotlight.

As a few additional thoughts, Looted Wagons done up like Rhinos would be very fluffy for a Blood Axe army. Also, Looted Wagons would be amazing if they had just a little bit more kustomization, like letting them effectively "mock" the real keynote abilities of the other faction's tanks. If I could say, make them skimmers, or give them a lascannon equivalent (rokkits don't count), or what have you, that would be really interesting.

Considering its a gun platform and not a transport I don't think you can justify the pts for rpj, armour plates or grot riggas.

Sure you can move to get range and avoid cover but that's an extra 20pts on an already fragile tank that frankly is more likely to go boom than it is to suffer an immobilised or stunned.

Boomgun, ard case and possibly an extra Big Shoota so it can take at least 1 eapon destroyed result and do something if the boomgun gets blown off.

Between Alpha and Omega, and a little to the left

I sometimes run a looted wagon as a cheep Burna Boy transport. it's works well, especially with a scorcha, and I can sandwich it between two battlewagons if I'm really that worried about it.

Sounds like an awsome choice for the 400 pt combat patrol coming up..... probably run looted wagon, lootas, and ard boyz w/pk nob in trukk. Or maybe 2 looted wagons and some foot sloggin ard boyz w/ PK nob.

Oh YEAH! Droppin bombs! *although, they WILL scatter! * lol
