I have a planetary empires match coming up against the Space marines, and was wondering if this was a good list to take.
I have an additional 50 points, where he will most likely have 2 squads with feel no pain.

My list is:

CCS + 4 Melta + Chimera (145)

Vets + 3 Melta + Chimera (155)
Vets + 3 Melta + Chimera (155)
Vets + 3 Melta + Chimera (155)

Vendetta + HB Sponsons (140)
Vendetta + HB Sponsons (140)
Vendetta + HB Sponsons (140)

Total: 1030

Or

On a side note, I will have a 750pt 3-way death-match afterwards VS Marines and Eldar if anyone has any list tips on that match up.

Chimera lists are very powerful unless he can stop your rush. If he can they sort of fizzle out.

Im always tempted to try a chimera list backed up by 6 gryphon mortar tanks in squads of 2

Anyone have experience vs marines at this point level?

I can see 2 glaring mistakes in your lists, 1000 points doesn't mean around 1000 points, 50 and 30 points is a massive amount over the limit

Personally, Ive never liked the heavy bolter sponsons on the Vendetta/ Valkyrie. I also think you have too much melta. Run some Plasmaguns, more shots that kill Marines good! I like your first list, its a good combo of chimera and Vendettas, but at 1k points, do you really need 9 twin-linked lascannon shots? The multiple rocket pods will hit more guys at once and force more saves! Good luck!

As for the too many meltas and lascannons, its mostly to take out any armor he has coming at me, and to kill his squads with fnp.
