It's pretty much 50/50 like or dislike the Eldar Fire Prism. Me... I think it looks horrid, but has great potential. Since I don't have the kit to convert it myself I took the pic from GW's site and photochopped it to what I think makes a rather nice conversion. I thought I'd share my work to give inspiration to others.

Congratulations, your dismissive and conclusory commentary has provided nothing to this discussion or the wider community on whose behalf you arrogantly presume to speak nor does it engage in any meaningful way the remark it lamely targets. But you did manage to gain experience points toward your next level of internet tough guy.

That is indeed exactly how I intended to model my own when I got my hands on them! lol

Sadly, I don't think the conversion is quite as simple as the pic suggests, the turret pieces on the sprue are awkward.

Eminently doable though.

Why yes, the conversion of that tank's gun is certainly doable.

Very nice. Personally, I always thought it would be epic to just mount two of those crazy crystal guns on there, but that's just because I like symmetry.

There's just an acre of you fellas, isn't there?

That's similar to what I plan to do.

I don't like the prismlance turret the kit has.

I like your idea a lot.

You want the extension on the barrel. You measure from the gun and the new turret gives you a little bit more.

Or, you go for what looks better and you are happy with, and screw the extra 2" of range

Huh, I was considering the complete opposite - cut the big base prism out, and just have a lance with the thinner prism at the end.

If you are playing where that extra 2" makes a difference, that is. Like an apoc board - which I play rarely as my clubmates can't get their heads around the "team" idea and end up playing as a bunch of squabbling grots v a combined "team" army and usually die horribly.

On most boards, the 60" or so of the prism cannon is more than adequate to the task.

I like the conversion, but it takes away from the overall awe of the prism cannon. Different Strokes for different folks though.

I'm just happy to see GW working more with the translucent plastics. This was one of the things I loved about the Necron line and was sad to not see it put to better use in other forces.
