Bounding Ultramarine Assault Trooper

Ultramar

hello
it's me again
i thought i might do something different this time
seems how my last two battle reports were my smurfs against nids
so here's Eldar v. a mix of marines and guard
i let my buddy scags use some space marines
he forgot his box of tanks for his guard

we settled on a planet strike mission
and (yet again) i was attacker

here's the setup

scags likes to make a cinematic set up for his games
and i was fine with it

we had three objectives
the two bastions and the bit centre

here's his set up

FIRST TURN PART 1

orbital bombardment took out the gun turret on the bastion and one or two marines/guard
i chose the special eldar rule for the game
roll a whole mess of dice for reserves and pick which ones come in
then re-roll the scatter
and then i march on the board
deepstriking a few units

first turn i take out both bastions
the first with fire dragons and the last with my hawks (go haywire grenades)
i immobilized the land raider with the falcon (like it's going anywhere!)

FIRST TURN PART TWO

i got the marines entrenched in a bunker to show their heads
fired on my guardians
but thanks for Eldrad i re-rolled those failed saves
only lost one or two
the angry men in the bastion come toward my dragons
lock in close combat
not what they were meant to do
the men in the other bastion run away from my hawks
a stray LC shot takes out my falcon
and the marines mop up the banshees that were inside

SECOND TURN PART ONE

D-cannon takes out a weapon on the land raider
scorpions deepstrike on the objective
Eldrad uses mind war on the termie captain
and wins!
taking out all of his wounds
got to love that

SECOND TURN PART TWO
i had to leave early
so we called it a draw
i probably would have lost
i only had one objective
where as has had two

all and all a good game
i love Eldrad
can't live with out him

I've been playing Dark Eldar since before the hype came out about them, so I guess that makes me a long-term player

Not bad. The bastions were done for anyway, though.

Not for long. The polar bears are riding the melting glaciers south in search of penguin-steaks.

playing this made me use fire dragons more often
but i think i need a transport for them
having standard meltaguns and melta bombs are kick ass
i might drop the scorpions
