Just need some input kinda confused...

So Dawn of war set up in the book table half 2 troops and 1 HQ pretty simple

but in the little Example under the diagram it says
"player B then deploys a unit of Troops, already embarked into their dedicated transport (which is his second unit of Troops). He then deploys an independent character from his HQ, joining the undit embarked in the transport."

so reading this i would think that the unit counts as 1 for the troop and the dedicated transport counts as the other troop choice ,,, correct ??
cause in most battles we have played or i have seen played there deployment is usually (example) 2 squads of marines one 10 man one 9 man with a captain both squads starting in rhinos...

Next part of my question space wolves either way by that i mean

1 Grey Hunter
1 rhino
1 rune

= 2 troops/1 HQ

or

2 grey hunter
2 rhino
1 rune

= 2 troops/1 HQ

Does the Wolf guard that joins the hunter squads at the start of the battle get deployed at the start with the 2 troops in the rhino??
if not what happends to them???

I realize this is pretty confusing sorry.

If you deploy a squad and its transport then yes its does count as your 2 choices. As for your Space wolves deployment issue, dunno I dont play them sorry.

+1 to this

A unit that is not listed as part of the squad (in your case you wolf guard), cant be included in DOW. As it counts towards another spot in the FoC.

Please correct me if I am wrong, don't know much about space puppies...

The best thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's far too late to stop reading it.

You're wrong, as Space Puppies WG can deploy with a unit as part of that unit, and count as that unit "slot", i.e. are Troops if they join a unit of troops.

You are told, specifically, that UNITS are what count in DoW, so what counts is how many UNITS you have - is a vehicle a unit? Yes? Then it is one of your choices (assuming it is troops or HQ...]

+1 This is because the WG join the squad pre-battle, and so is considered as Troops (or whatver other type of squad they joined, eg, Long Fangs - Heavy Support) for the remainder of the game, even if the entire squad bar he is killed
