Steampunk = googles. At wondercon I actually saw a "steampunk" cosplayer sporting two pairs of goggles. I'm getting sick of the non-victoriana flavored steampunk.

I've always enjoyed Privateer's artwork. Some of their models are also nice.
Shame what MkII did to the rules...

While I only ever played MkII, I think the rules are fine, and you're the first person I've heard who said they think MkI was better.

yeah, that's the general consensus at the FLGS, too. maybe I'm not seeing it, maybe the more things change the more they stay the same...
They did fix trample, though, which I think is actually worth doing in MkII; that's cool.

It still seems fun, don't get me wrong, but it's just not for me these days. I'm keeping my pirates to play pick-up games when there's no 40k going on, but I've only bought figs that I could use to make conversions out of for a while now...
