I'm not sure if these rules are still used, but I read some time ago that casualties must be taken by models from a unit that are in Line of Sight of the attacker.

So, I thought of Apocalypse, or perhaps it's cityfight.. Anyhow, if a squad moves along some, let's say houses, and ends their move with some units behind cover of one house, some behind the next, and some in the middle. Then some enemy pops up and shoots down let's say 3 casualties from that unit, killing those in the gap between the covers. That would make them more than 2" from one another, does that mean the coheracy is broken and that they have to regroup?

Casualties may be taken from any model in the target unit. Only models with LOS may fire, but any may die.

Casualties may be taken from anywhere (even breaking coherency) and the unit msut move to get back into coherency in the following movement phase. BRB pg 12.

You are thinking wrongly. Casualties can be taken from anywhere in the unit.

Hm, then I must have read it wrong. By some reason I get the immage of a city full of Necrons and Tau fighting eachother, but I think that was the article about Tau Tacticts about Skimmers... Which doesn't have anything to do with this.

But I think that the rule would make sence if it was there. You see a few men run across a gap between two buildings, you fire at them and hear their buddies scream in agony behind them as they get hit.. By... Bouncing shots that hit a third building? =P

Also, this would make it possible for a Sarge to be shot down before his men, usually when I play people tend to take their soldiers in first hand.. Obviously.

That's what the wound allocation rules do... you just have to hit the unit with enough wounds that they have to allocate one to the Sergeant.
