Let's have an update.
This is stuff I've been doing since my last update to Dakka alongside work and of course
the car.
The old Lesney/Matchbox models aren't any fixed scale so sometimes you have to be creative with how you use them, but usually they're great for enriching buildings and street scenes that you can see but can't necessarily get models into.
Iso Grifo (proper scale)
Rolls Royce Silver Shadow (proper scale)
Berkely Caravan (almost proper scale)
AEC Horse Box (slightly smaller scale)
Ford Cortina Drophead (proper scale) this was converted from a regular 4 door saloon whose roof had been bashed in. Not perfect, but it's good enough for scenery and display.
Mercury Commuter (slightly smaller scale), has two dogs in the back, awesome.
Motorcycle Trailer (proper scale). I'm missing the motorcycle, but you could easily use this is a gun platform if not as scenery.
Ford Station Wagon (slightly smaller scale). Although this is slightly smaller scale, the basic and crude modelling lends itself well to a burnt out shell (though I haven't done that with this one). Fairly easy to pick up cheap on eBay.
Bedford Van (proper scale). Another crude early model, but again fairly easy to pick up cheap. Great as a mini riot van, a burnt out shell or any sort of small delivery vehicle. I've gone for a John Deere scheme, but you could do so much more with one of these.
Wolseley 1500 (proper scale). This is a *tiny* model, but does appear to be in scale. Nice and easy to put into the scenery as a little easter egg type surprise for other players to spot. The fairly basic modelling also lends itself well to a burnt out shell motif.
Greyhound Coach (about half scale). This one is much smaller than the usual scale so should be used in far distance scenery. You could probably convert it into something that appears to be proper scale, but it's hardly worth it.
Hot Rod (proper scale). Hot Wheels stuff is pretty much always on scale, and the chunky overstated modelling goes well with
GW stuff. Quite versatile and useful.
