I am presently building a rouge Inquisitor army (DH) with renegade IG that has a penal legion made up of "captive" commissars as a penal legion. I was thinking of using the typical commissars for the squad, but none of them have lasguns except for Hero, form the old Last Chancers Box set.

I'm not really proficient enough in green stuff to make the commissars hats and the like, so what would be a good comparison for the hats/beat up coats as easy conversions? I plan on posting the models I have already completed for this project once I get home from work later today.

The heads with caps can be found on the old IG vehicle accessory sprue and the cadians command squad set. Coats will be gs I'm afraid, but it's easier then it looks, especially if they can look tattered. Take a look at the squeaky waagh in my sig for what's possible with gs even if you're not an expert.

I know the rumor mill has the whole DH/WH being phased out, however, I will just use the Inquisitor when I have him made as my "Senior" officer. I have the two mystics atm, but I can repurpose them. Where would be a good place to pic up those heads at? I really dont want to purchase a box set for one head or figure for that matter....

Friends who play IG would be a good start,since the accessory sprue came standard in the old tanks, so they should have a bunch . otherwise, there's quite a few bits retailers online. I haven't used any yet, but I've heard goods things about bits.co.uk. There's quite a few threads about bits shops, do a search for them and you should find a bunch. Good luck!
