I'm not sure if this is the right place so mods if you feel It's in the wrong place move away!

Anyway I've heard from semi-reliable sources that there was a rule set for gaunt in the 2nd edition guard codex. Can anyone confirm this or even better post roughly what the rules entail. Just because I saw the model and I know it could have been just for collecting but I would like to play him (in friendly games) as more than a lord commisar. Thanks in advance.

The rules were published in WD along some other characters. Also, the rules of Gaunt himself were present in 4th ed IG Codex. Some more characters who didn't have minis had their rules in GW website too.

Thanks man. I've been collecting guard since the end of 3rd edition but I've only ever bought the 5th edition codex. Also I tried googleing but I must have done something wrong.
