Ok, i did a search and checked the rule book, but im still a bit confuzled by 1 thing when it comes to walkers assaulting vehicles.
The only thing, and how i have been playing it for awhile now, is they act as infantry. so if a tank moved 6" i hit on 4+, if it moved 12" i hit on 6, if it moved nothing instant hit via my walker (in this case a deff dred) am i wrong to be playing this set of rules? i know there's death or glory, but is that only reserved for vehicles moving away from me? that's as i remember anyways. I know that if a dread fails death or glory he becomes immobilized. so always take grot riggers!!!

Cheers for clarification, did a search and checked the errata. and was still unsure if "i am infantry" applies to walker at all times incl tanks

You might not agree, but I happen to think Blood angel are quite a bargain, for the quality of the miniatures. I've never seen a marine kit better than the sanguinary Guard. Those have to be some of the best models they make.

On pg73 is where you will find the answer.

And the answer is, yes! Walkers behave exactly like infantry in assault, so you've been playing it absolutely correct

Cheers, so my house mate can stop arguing with me that it's always hitting on a 6 if it moved at all!

I thought he knew the rules better than me!

"Infantry" applies unless your rules say different.

Death or Glory is a specific rule for trying to stop a vehicle that tank shocks or rams you. Page 69, BRB. A walker failing DoG is not immobilized, it just takes the ramming hit on the rear armour. Pg 73, BRB.

So death or glory never applies unless being tankshocked(for normal infantry) or rammed for walkers?
i thought death or glory was applicable when tanks moved away from infantry by going through the unit, because it is always considered tank shock. or is it not tank shock unless declared?

Nope, only when your opponent declares he will "Tank Shock" in his movement phase, declare how far he is travelling and if units are hit, and pass their morale checks (walkers always pass), they may CHOOSE to move aside, or DoG.

You must declare a tank shock/ram. If not you can't force the enemy to give way - normally you can't move through them due to the "keep over 1'' away" rule.

In addition walkers are not (normally) Tanks, therefore cannot Tank Shock.....

Just wanted to clear up that if it moved more then 6 inches you have to roll 6 to hit, not 12. Not sure if you mis typed that or not but ya never know
