Hey I'm new to dakka and this is my first post so here it goes,

I was on youtube and found a video of a gun most people will recongise from Modern Warfare 2 and it is an automatic shotgun that has the exploding rounds and everything.

I want one even though it is ugly as sin.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.

That gun is old news. I don't think they see any real use though, since fully automatic shotguns don't seem to be in high demand.

To post a Youtube link, just paste the link in. That usually works. Alternately, you might need to put [/youtube] at the end of the URL. You started the BBcode but didn't finish it.

Its nothing new- there were working prototypes of that back in the late 70's. The original developer didnt have the funding to have the R&D done for the metallurgy the design required.

And Borther SRM is partially right- it doesnt see any real world use yet because its not in production, theres fewer than 2 dozen. But the Army and USMC War Lab are reportedly evaluating them though

Until then- its a video game dream gun

Looks neato and all, but I don't see this becoming widely used. It's too specialized in what it does and not good enough to replace anything in the inventory. It's bigger than current shotguns. Even if it weighs less, it's longer and therefore not as good in CQB. The fin stabilized grenade is very small compared to a 203's 40mm so I question the ability of the round to truely clear a room. 9 ft dispersion according to the video, but there's less framentation/ square inch resulting in less steel on target. It detonates on impact, but la "smart" round to detonate where and when the operator wants it has already been developed with the XM???. Then the fact that the range is significantly less than what the boots on the ground are asking for. Poor Joe's still gotta hump his ruck, rifle, ammo and grenades. Now this + its ammo on top of that?
