Hi Dakka!

After spending way too much time reading this forum instead of revising (my 3rd year University physics exams start in... 3 days... uggh) I'm finally joining up. Pleased to be On Board (geddit? Ouchies..).

I first started gaming way back in 1998.. I remember going to my local store for a beginners 40k game, and being told that it was the final game of 2nd edition. A people were in awe of the mysterious "Necrons" (dunked in green poster paint) that one the the kids had... and a heavy bolter jammed, but thats about all I remember of that experience. Anyway, a box of Tallarn guardmen and a Basilisk later, me and my twin bro set about converting the Friends From School into the hobby. We had quite a little group going, however in about 2004 we spontaneously disbanded- presumably (but unspoken of) as a last ditch attempt to be more appealing to the girls infiltrating our adolescent posse...

It appeared that we were all far more into this than we were admitting, though. I never bargained on getting a Facebook message from one of the old crew years later, having gone to different universities, and an invitation to a secret (lol) group:

"It takes a certain type of individual to send warhammer themed druken texts. Oh well . . ."

Under the sly pretence of making 40k into a drinking game we all got back into the hobby, hook line and sinker. Terrain was made, boards constructed, armies dusted off and repainted. Beer consumed. That was about a year ago. Now I'm collecting and painting myself for the first time, rather than let my brother do all the hard work. It's a new ork army this time round, but I have a few ideas up my sleeve. Anyway, ramble over!

I look forward to spending some more time on Dakka!

Which one is good or evil?

Most definitely me... proved by an excellent photo from a few years back that I can't seem to lay my hands on, oh well.
And I like to think I was a pretty mean villain/gamesmaster in the Inquistor campaigns I used to run..

~Mustache twiddling~ Gwahaha!

Semi-related Claim to fame: Before necrons ever came out, with their spanky green plastic tube guns, I'd converted a Gauss flayer for Inquisitor. How? Wire, green stuff, and a large brush plastic sheath the inside of which dyed with green ink and stuffed with cotton wool. I thought of it first, GW!

He is trying to be friendly and sell his product or maybe just get in a conversation with him. If he asks you if you have enough GS
I see you've never talked to a homeless person trying to convince you the CIA under the direction of the Chinese are running a secret eugenics program using abortion centers as cover.
