Hi there.

Yesterday I had a game against a chaos player and my necron destroyer lord got assaulted by his dreadnaught.

He got 1 wound on my lord and said it was instand death, I saw what he meant how the normal necron lord is T 5 and the body gives him + 1 but I thought that he wasnt instant deathed due to normal destroyers are base T 5 so why wouldent the lord become base T 6?

We just agreed the Lord died by instant death and played on because it was a friendly game.

If someone can clear this up for me it would be great to know for further games.

I don't play Necrons, but if his stat line is listed as T6, not T6(5), I would say, by RAW, he should be immune to ID.

If you can keep your head, while all about you are losing their's, then you have probably completely misunderstood the situation!

At T6, no S=2x weapon will ID him because there are no S12 weapons (which would be needed).

Now, force weapons can do it (even when their strength<2xT) because of their rules - so a BA librarian dread with FW could do it (but the regular DCCWs can't).

Grey Knight Grand Masters with Nemesis force weapons can even gib models immune to ID.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.

It has to say it doesn't count for instant death for it not to count for instant death. A similar example is Space Wolves mounted on Thunderwolfs - their toughness is "permanently" increased from 4 to 5, meaning they don't suffer ID from S8 or S9 wounds.

Which it does. It specifies in the Destroyer Body entry that he can't be Instant Killed by S10 weapons.

Forgot about that clarification (haven't seen a Necron in about a year now) but even if that line wasn't there it would count for instant death.

yeah, the Cron dex has the only Jetbike upgrade that increases your base toughness.

if your opponent doesn't belive you(and they have a reason too as no other bike upgrade does this) show them the Destroyer body entry.
