Im very new to blood angels and was hoping for some info on my army list.


HQ--Astorath the grim -- 220pts

Elite--Sternguard--10men 2 lasconnon,2 Combi-melta--290 pts

--Terminators--5men--assault cannon--230pts
--land raider transport--250pts

Troop--Death company--10men--jump packs --310pts

--Death company Dread-- pair of blood talons--125pts

--Assault--6 men-- vet w/ Lightning claw, melta bombs--138pts

--Assault--6 men-- vet w/ power weapon, melta bombs--138pts

--Tactical--10 men-- meltagun,rocket launcher, Vet w/power weapon--175pts

--Tactical--10 men-- meltagun,rocket launcher, Vet w/ power weapon,plasma pistol--190pts

for a total of 2066 points.

As for how I play them, I break my Sternguard into combat squads with 1 combi-melta/lascannon in each. I use them to either support the 2 tactical squads as they hold objectives or leap frog them forward. Everything else goes for any targets of oportunity and or taking objectives. Ive only played 1 game like this so far and it seems to work.

Any advice form Blood Angels vets would be great.

Just in general, do not give the sternguard any heavy weapons. You are paying some good points for those special issue rounds, so take advantage of all those shots you can get.

Astorath is only useful if you want to field more than one DC units.

Astorath also gives me a better chance for my marines to have furrious charge and re-rolling hits and wounds with the DC. What do you mean no anti-tank ? Landraider with 2 twin-linked lasconnons. the 2 lascannons and 2 combi-meltas in the sternguard and both assault squads have meltabombs on the Vets. I also have a bike squad with 2 meltaguns, assault bike with multimelta and melta bombs on the vet. icould substitue someting for that.

I can't think of an opponent that's going to have an army set up ready for a match at 2066 points. I don't know if that's a thing you want to think about or not?

If I take the 2 lascannons out of the sterguard and give them the Landraider, then replace the terminators with my anti-tank bike squad it would bring me to 1971 points. can squeese in a few more points of wargear.

If you bring up those Assault Squads to 10, you can take double special weapons.

I found a post some were here on dakka dakka saying use assault terminators and stick a sanguinary priest with them. I have a priest but I was wondering if I should loose the horde killing fire power of my current termies and have 5 lightning claws with the vet with thunderhammer and stom shield. Ive got a thunderhammer model left over from when I bought a friends bitz box but dont have an opening for it.
