So, not sure if this should go in tactics or lists, but since there is a list that's where I decided to put it. This is what I'm up against tomorrow after work:

Company command squad - chimera (HF), plasma x 4
Company command squad - chimera (HF), plasma x 4
Platoon command squad - chimera (HF), melta x 4
Infantry squad - flamer (go in vendetta)
Infantry squad - flamer (go in vendetta)
Veteran squad - chimera (HF), melta x 3
Vendetta x 3
LRBT x 2

1.5k on the dot. For those who aren't familiar I'm a nid player who has no qualms with a few proxies. I belive that no matter what I take I'm in for a rough time. I do have a list ready to go, but since I prefer spod lists I'm a bit unfamiliar with the typical competitive nid lists (lots of hive guard and tyrannofexes are must haves it seems). Any suggestions?

Well, I dunno what models you have available, but this is something I came up with really quick with heavy reserve ability

Hive tyrant - HVC, hive commander, 2+ upgrade, LW/BS

2 zoans in a spod x 2

6 ymgarl stealers - maybe not everyone's favorite, but busting out of area terrain and tearing up a tank or two is nice

8 genestealers with AG

1 tervigon - catalyst, toxin sacs, adrenals - maybe outflank this guy?

10 gants, park them on a home objective

2 trygons - AG's on both

So most of your stuff with be reserves, pop out on turn 2 with the +1 to rolls, then be assaulting and blowing up tanks turn 3

I dunno, not many troops, probably better lists, but thats my 2 cents

Ok, I think I may need to be a bit clearer. Sorry. The list I have in mind looks like this:

Bonesword + lashwhips
Rending claws

3x Hive guard

16x gaunts
15x gaunts
1x tervigon
Catalyst, Onslaught, Adrenal glands, Toxin sacs

So yeah, to face cheese I need to bring cheese. I do prefer my DS list, but I have a feeling that in this showdown I don't stand a chance in hell.

Hey, this guard looks just like a list i beat with marines -

Yeah, I made a lot of mistakes that game. I could have stayed out of plasma range but being unfamiliar with the list I got my butt handed to me. Next time I will make up for it.

He has a mech list with many plasmas against MCs.

So for busting their vehicles, you need shooting, instead of melee.

Hive guard+tyrannofex seems a good beginning.

Well the list I used is written above. I just didn't use it very well. I pushed everything forward far too much. I should have really known he needed double tap range on his plasma to be effective (actually I did know and even pointed it out to him mid-game I was making a mistake but carried on regardless). Next time I won't be so careless.

Use genestealers! I play guard and I know that 30 to 40 of them are the horror of every guard player!
