This question arise when i read up Thor's article here on dakka.
DE dex says that Lilith's retinue can choose drug options manually, but Thor in article mentions that normal wyches squad that have Lilith choose drugs effect manually too. Is that so? Or manual selection works only as codex states for her Retinue only?

Where he's put the parathenesis in it's so he's clarified that the drug choices affects them too.

erm, a little confused with your phrase.
Do you ask me where Thor written that? or you say that he clarify using Lilith and drugs that way?

nor codex not faq mention normal units in selecting drugs manually, they do so only while mention retinue. and i'm really worried about choosing effect with just normal wyches

Oh yeah - soryy. I always read it as Liliths take special drugs, she take her elite force and they take her drugs too.
Hence the (yes her squad too).

I see now that I'd already read the 'her squad' to be the 'elite force' and the possible confusion is from Wyches normally being an elite choice but as one is taking Lil' it's a Wych cult so any Wych squad that wasn't retinue would be troops not elites.

Bit confused by the whole discussion in this thread, but this is how the rules work.

If Lelith takes a retinue, following the rules provided in her unit entry, then instead of rolling on the normal table for her retinues drugs, the player may simply choose from that same table. Note that this ONLY applies to a unit taken as a retinue in accordance to her unit entry, and not to a normal unit of Wyches taken as a troops choice.

In accordance with the FAQ, Lelith ALSO benefits from whatever drug selection you make.

While the FAQ definitely suggests Lelith should be able to make the same selection even if fielded on her own, it doesn't actual make that ruling, so arguably the combination of RAW and the FAQ is still insufficient for her to get drugs when alone.

note: Here is the FAQ question I mentioned.

Q. Does Lelith Hesperax gain the advantages of
the combat drugs her retinue has?
A. She does, otherwise she would be the only
Wych in the army (and probably in the universe)
not to use combat drugs.

Drunkspleen has it spot on.

On her own, she doesn't get it, but with a Retinue she does.

I agree with this (except the Warp Best part ) It's funny because I was just discussing this with Dash and explaining it as described here - I must have just gone momentarily insane when I was writing that part. I'll fix it post haste.
