Right.. for those of you that love the 40k radio show.. lets show spencer, scott, chipley and even jar jar that we support them... yes jar jar made a mistake.. but spencer didnt deserve the flak he recieved.. lets see if we can get 1000 comments on the 40radio homepage under "thats all folks"
This is to show "the rippa" his stupid ideas cant come to light, with spencer backing down he thinks hes won.. let someone else pick up the torch! We cant let the bullies in society win
This is for you 40k radio!

Yes, i do.. but if people dont stand up and back down to this sort of behaviour, "the rippa" has won.. its possible for the other hosts to take over... i dont think such an iconic show should just quit... it has a masive following.. people have 40k radio tattoos! I think its a shame it has come to this. If spencer wants to step down thats fine, but we as a 40k group should back them, and keep 40k radio alive, even as a pirate radio cast like they did for a few eps

Hmmmm....
All joking apart, I'd love to have a go and if I could afford it I'd buy the show! I've commented on the "That's All Folks"...lets get as much support as we can!
Regarding the other post above though...yes, I agree it was personal choice (as a father myself, I understand all too well the need to protect family), but arent we taught all our lives that bullies need to be stood up to?

Basically, JarJar got banned over a poorly judged comment said whilst drunk (and has apologised), but they let him back...someone objected and sent a VERY nastly email to Spencer, so he's packed up shop! A few other bits of hoo-hah and argy-bargy with co hosts who left, but nothing untowards. Poor guy...gotta feel for someone who puts so much into something and then gets that sort of sh*t!

As much as I'd like to see the show continue, I seriously doubt a petition will do anything. But hey, sign me up anyways and I'll eat my hat if I'm wrong.

Have you lost a child?
No body can really say if he was naive or not unless they went through the same thing and was at the same time getting (essentially) hate mail that involved bringing up that event.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Uhhh...thanks for reinforcing the point? I have not lost a child, but I imagine that probably weighs heavier than some ITG's hatemail, no matter the subject. Add in the fact that there's drama over bringing JarJar back, and that he's had a falling out with the guys who helped keep the show going after the last host fallout. He actually kinda flipped out on them, from what I read by his own hand. Obviously there's more than this email going on. I just wish he'd have done us the courtesy of explaining that rather than making sure that nobody could criticize his decision by essentially Godwinning the argument.

Cross-posting my response to this crap from the other thread:
Well, I'm assuming this guy did 40kradio as a side thing, and probably wasn't all that devoted to it. He's very eager to "sell" the show, so he can't have been very interested in it in the first place.
People don't quit doing something they because they love over a couple vague Internet Tough Guy comments from some anonymous douchehat unless they're extremely thin-skinned. Granted, whoever wrote that email was a total dick, but that's nothing worth packing up and quitting the show over.

I loves me some internet dramas!!!
Seriously?
LET STUPID DOGS DIE!
This one was a DOG when they started running there alligator pie hole with a hummingbird azz and going too far over the top that they lost thier focus from gaming to rock star ego roll play.
It then went from 40K into the realm of "Oh, look how clever we are!!! We're so !#@$ing funny!!!!
Then they go into the left field with the out of season drunk sessons.
If no one has told you, that crap went out with the Jerky boys.
NO ONE wants to listen to a bunch of too cool for the cool kids running thier drunken pie holes and only entertaining themselves.
Keep the dog dead, don't put it in the Pet Semitary....

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money. |

The guy who was drunk used a strong racial slur, but not in an attack on anyone....
The guy who wrote in said that spencers wifes miscarriage was his fault due to his karma, and that he better get his affairs in order. He also mentioned trying to get people stop sponsoring the show.
On another note. Im just curious, does anyone know what the drama was between the co hosts was?
How is 40K Radio registered? Is it a business or a nonprofit, or something else? How does this effect the tons of money they were bringing in?
What happens to the freebootas?
What happens to the people who were going on the geek tours england thing with them?
I had heard rumors of tax issues with Spencer, does anyone have anything that can validate that?

Look on bloodofkittens.com for a full report of what happened..
@ agamemon2, the idea isnt to force spencer back onto the show, but get the show re aired, be it with new hosts? or a mix of new an old, the show has a very solid fan base and framework in place and it would be a shame to see it go to waste. The guys put alot of work and effort into that show, so maybe it could do with a breath of fresh air

So was I for a while (a freeboota that is)
My post just above yours was merely aimed at providing a succint precis to the person who'd asked what had been going on. I never for one moment dreamt that one single email caused the entire fall-out. I'm aware that there's a big back story, be it fall-outs with his co-hosts, hateful emails saying extremely hurtful things, and most importantly worries for his family's welfare following his wife's terribly unfortunate miscarriage. Whatever - I was just trying to summarise to get those not in the know a little more up to speed.
To focus on one (of the many) issues just for a moment, that email truly was revolting. I'm priveledged to be a father myself, of 4 beautiful children, but my wife has had a miscarriage before. My sister in law has had two - one of those just last month. I can feel Spencer's pain on this issue all too acutely...and fully appreciate his decision to shut up shop.
I feel for the guy - so much cr@p hitting his fan right now. If there is a whole lot more to this other than what I mentioned here, then I'd venture to suiggest it's none of our business and all should be left alone. It's all obviously a private matter or matters, personal to those involved.
I enjoyed the show...more so in earlier days when Phil Johnson was still on board. I think it needed a bit of re-assessment, so if it does continue after those concerned take a well-earned break or sell it to someone else (how much does a podcast cost anyway? Just for curiousity I'd love to know), I hope the break does it good and it has a fresh focus to it.
I'd love to see the show back...maybe in fresh hands...but not before anyone is genuinely ready to do it justice.

I agree, let it die. I feel bad that Spencer had to go through a lot of drama before closing up shop, but maybe if they had stuck to just talking about the hobby rather than f**king around and acting like 13 year old boys that have just discovered drinking alcohol, they'd still be on the air? ' 40k Warcasting' is a far superior podcast, and thankfully that's still going.
