Was a pretty good game, I hadn't played in several months so I thought I would be rather rusty. I was happy with the list that I used, the list was bascially only what I had so I couldn't use anything else. Next time I would like to see only one Monolith to free up points.

Would be nice to see lists as I am curious as to how he was getting pens on your Monolith. Twice it was mentioned but I don't see how as Powerfists can only ever hope to glance, as well as Meltabombs if he had any.

As for the Marine list it looks kind of funky, nothing really looked optimized. Dread without a Pod, Termies not Deepstriking or hiding in a Land Raider Tacs not inside a Rhino/Razorback. Now I'm not saying every list should have or use these strategies but if they don't the list should at least have a theme.

Without these options the Marine player will always lose games to a shooty army as he's just inviting the beating by saying "I'll walk across the board while you shoot me up, ok?" Even in the codex fluff it states that they perform surgical strikes (Pods, Deepstriking) and employ rapid deployment (Rhino's, Raiders) so please advise him to try these strategies as they will make for a more entertaining Battle Report.

Hope to see more soon, thanks!

He said his melta bombs still get 2d6 because its 2d6 not 1d6 + 1 like the power fist idk lol

yer a melta bomb counts as S8 and gets 2D6 armour pen, just like a melta gun without the gun.

Can't use melta bombs on Monoliths...you can only roll 1 D6 for armor penetration EVER against a Monolith...(Exception being Ordnance Weapons...which, still get to roll their 2d6 pick the highest).

Was wondering, did you forget to use the Flux Arc throughout the game or did it just never do anything?

What he said, seriously though read your Monolith's time consuming Living Metal rule. Also I think he mentioned it kept getting stunned that's why he wasn't shooting but still, read the Monolith's never ending rules and I'm sure he still could have shot it.

Dread was actually a venerable dready. Died in the first shot it took as he hit it and penetrated. Rolled a 6. Told him to reroll and rolled a 6. As for my termies I usually drop them. Thing is I almost always get them turn 2 or 3 for some odd reason so I figured since he reserved everything I could use the turn or two they had just to move forwards.

Was kill points so I didnt want to break up the tacts to put them in the razorbacks.

ALso I had 3 lascannons floating around. in the end all had died or wernt able to shoot lol.

Ive been playing marines for years and years and have never had a problem against any army. Didnt do to hot in this one due to sheer bad luck for me. SO well what can you do lol.

ALso melta bombs are just str 8 +2d6. Theres no melta rule involved. They are not melta weapons. Havent read the rule for living metal but unless it can just get rid of a dice they should roll 2d6 on it.

It doesn't matter if they have the "melta" rule or not, they still only roll 1d6. Living Metal states it works against any weapon that rolls extra dice for armor penetration (C:Necron p.21)

EDIT: Actually scratch that until I get a chance to look at the building rules again.

Also reinforcing this. Nothing, besides ordnance, rolls 2D6 for armor penetration. And ordnance only uses one of the die for penetration, so really nothing gets 2d6 vs monoliths.
