This is a tutorial for making a rock wall.

Materials:
Selection of Stones
Glue
Cardboard
Sand
Lichen (Optional)

1) Wash the rocks. Arrange in desired pattern.

2)Cut out cardboard to roughly fit around rocks.

3)One by one, take apart the stones from the wall and glue them in place. Be generous!

4)When it dries, trim the cardboard.

5)Coat the top of the base with glue, and sprinkle on sand.

6)Glue on lichen (if available), standing or on the formation.

7)Admire your work. Use in next battle.

Simple, although rather heavy. If I needed some quick terrain I'd throw something like this together.

Is it a drystone wall? to be sure they may be a lot different in the 40K landscape. Also the wall is terrain scenery so it doesn't really matter too much. But it is not like any of the stone walls we have round here

Having said that, the technique could easily be adapted for small groups of boulders. I would suggest covering the sides of the card so you can't see the corrugation.

But a nice quick idea for terrain

You could just buy foam core and sculpt it or you can bluetac sculpt and use a blow flamer and dry it thats how I did it.

You could improve this by using modelling clay to texture the base more and masking tape to cover up the corrugation.

I think the walls look good, maybe smaller rocks (for variety, big rocks look fine as well) and then using them for WHFB. I'll have to try it sometime.
