How do the forgeworld guys stand up to the GW/normal/legal codex army's? i am really like to know how the chaos forces from #7 do before i start buying some but i still like to know about the others.

It's armies, not "army's" - work on your spelling and grammar a tad, and please don't start topics with caps lock titles.

The Forgeworld army lists generally are a bit weaker than the core GW books. They're more for fun than earnest competition. They aren't allowed in tournaments usually, so it's kind of a moot point. They've usually got some cool stuff though, like Salamander Scout Vehicles for Imperial Guard, Dreadclaw drop pods for Chaos Marines, and so on.

Their stuff is generally slightly overpriced. Any neat effects you might get are generally countered by that.

For example, in the new ork dread mob list, boyz units cannot have a powerklaw nob, and gretchin cost 33% more, in exchange for grenades that hurt them if they use them.

They are for flavour rather than substance. Like spices, they don't fill you up but they are damn good in your mouth.
