Episode 56 is an RPG Interview extravaganza!

Up first the guys interview Sam Stuart of Fantasy Flight Games. Sam gives the low down on two upcoming Rogue Trader RPG expansions: Lure of the Expanse and Into the Storm. He even shares details about one of the new playable Warhammer 40,000 races added via Into the Storm.

Then Total Fan Girl grabs some time with the guys from Evil Hat Productions and asks them to share what it was like to develop the upcoming Dresden Files RPG.
Finally the guys hop back on a board... a shuffle board? To fight monsters? Find out all the details in a detailed review of Catacombs.

All that and our usual 'not too horrible' humor, with features such as:

- The Hollywood Minute
- Rapid Fire
- What's in the News
- & More

Sure! I thought he mentioned your name after both, but I may be mis-remembering. (is that a word?)

Sorry, Aaron, that was actually on purpose. The way it was written made me think, for some reason, that you wanted the attribution to be to Dark-Megatron. I'll try to remember to make a correction next time. Don't know what happened to the Achievements one . . . did I do that?

Sometimes my creativity gets the better of me . . . :(

Another great show guys, I'm definitely a big fan of the long shows. Catacombs definetly sounds like a fun game to check out. BTW Bundaberg Ginger Beers(Root beer for australians) is the best in Aus.

Another good episode -- I will take a look at the Dresden Files game when it comes out now. I had heard of it but was going to just give it a miss beforehand.

Great show guys, as always.

Actually ordered my copy of Catacombs before you'd finished the review, just looks too unique to miss

I forgot to add that I found the 40K Radio incident to be quite disturbing.

What was the 40K incident?

They talk about it at the end of the podcast -- apparently one of the hosts of 40K Radio was getting so much abuse from a listener that he decided to give up the podcast. (Other people probably know more, that is what I recall from the D6G podcast)

Just a slight correction to the Dresden Files segment. The guys from Evil Hat made it sound like the FATE system was entirely their creation, which is taking a bit too much credit. Evil Hat only added the Aspect mechanic to an older "open-source" system, FUDGE, by Steffan O'Sullivan.

A while back, during the 40k Radio marathon show, one of the occasional hosts used an ethnic slur (beginning with the letter "n"). That guy was kicked off the show and denounced by 40k Radio, but there were still people who tried to get 40k Radio's sponsors to bail on them because of the incident. Recently they brought that host back after he made an apology. At least one person wasn't satisfied and emailed Spencer using threatening language and insensitively commenting on the miscarriage Spencer's wife recently had.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
One minor little quibble I did want to address as politely as possible with as much deference as I can muster though is............................... RBG figures are NOT 25mm scale!

RBG figures are 32 mm scale, meanign that the average human male figure is built on an armature that measures from the top of the head to the bottom of the feet, 32 mm tall with back straight and feet together. Elves are slightly shorter and slimmer, and Dwarves are even shorter still but maintain fairly " stout " proportions. I get emails asking me all the time what size my figures are, and it seems impossible to discribe to people because the perception of what 28 mm scale IS is so incredibly confused now........ anyway..

I really don't meanto offend or to seem offended myself. I am not. I am TOTALLY stoked that you guys saw fit to include my figures in a show plug. The whole "scale " issue is just the bane of my existence and a 3 inch, jagged sliver of rusty steel jammed under the cuticle of right index finger.

Sorry, man. No offense taken at all. I'll address that tonight when we record the next episode.

They look so proportional it's hard to tell, when you're used to GW models.

As for what the 40K Radio situation was, that's been amply explained here and we don't know anymore than the general public. There's plenty of room in the situation as understood for reasoned debate and different opinions, but the way it seems to have been dealt with is what I was referring to in DYEN.

Hey, Matt. We are, in fact, currently in development with the folks organizing Warstore Weekend. Nothing has been finalized, but it looks like Russ and Nicole (and maybe Raef) are seriously considering going. I can't, sadly. As that will be right in the middle of my busiest time of year at school AND I'll have a newborn to deal with (and the newborn's mother) AND that's the weekend of our annual Halloween Party.

But rest assured, we are doing everything we can so some of us can 'represent'.

I liked the podcast but, IMHO the host keeps derailing the show.

I got all excited about the FFG interview but, I felt like you guys talked more about his name and random facts on google as long as you talked about Rogue Trader.
