Hey all,

My buddy and I are going to have a 2500 point game tomorrow, i haven't decided on my list yet and any input would be helpful. Sorry for the wall of text or if i posted this in the wrong section.

His list will probably be mostly footslogging as the only vehicles he has are his battle wagon, trukk, and looted tank. A squad of burnas and lootas will probably make an appearance. I'm not sure if he's going to use ghaz with his nob squad or a nob bikers squad with all the trimmings, he will most likely use snikrot and his commandos. I think at 2500 it would be a bit points heavy for both ghaz and the nob bikers so I'm not counting on both. So far all of these are under consideration on my side.

3x Tac squads - haven't decided on which heavy weapons to take if at all, leaning toward at least 1 hb / plasma cannon and maybe a missile launcher. Probably in rhinos might let one footslog to cover my backfield if he uses snikrot.
7x Assault terminators - 5 ss/th 2 claw with a term librarian with ss and vortex/null zone as powers in a crusader. Last game he ran a biker nobz squad with all the fixings and from what i read this squad would be a good match but its a huge point sink and all that.
10x Sternguard - in a rhino maybe with 5 combi plasmas and 5 combi flamers. I'd like to throw Kantor in with them but i don't think I'll have the points.
Vindicator - Yay for a pie plate.
Thunderfire - Not to sure about it as i haven't tried it many times yet seems like a not bad idea vs a horde army.
2-3 Land speeders - Probably hb / missile launcher variety. I've had lots of luck with land speeders in the past so i tend to use them a lot.
Ironclad Dreadnought - Stormbolter and heavy flamer on the arms maybe a couple hk missiles.
Dakka predator - Seems like a pretty solid decision against orks.

Stuff I'm on the fence on:

Dev squad - I can see 4x hb or missile or plasma cannon being useful but I'm not sure how useful they are for the points compared to the above heavy support choices.
Terminator squad - Probably a 5 man with an assault cannon or cyclone launcher, possibly in a drop pod. Might be a bit points heavy if i use them with the 7 assault terminators.
Scouts - Last time we played all they really accomplished was getting mulched by snikrot and his commandos. To much cover to make good use of my sniper rifles.
Whirlwind - Last time around it didn't do a whole bunch but i haven't played many games with it either.
Any other fast attack options. Not sure how much use i would get out of a single squad of assault marines or 5 bikes. 10 bikes might be useful but i think I'll get more out of 3 land speeders.

All in all I'm not set on anything yet but i think the assault terminators with the librarian in the crusader are a must because i will need them to counter either his biker nobz or ghaz. Tac squads are also pretty much a given but everything else can be changed around. We tend to play with a ton of terrain so there will be cover saved aplenty and lots of tank congestion (for me anyways =( ).

whirlwind same reason - cheap pieplates
Vindis are brilliant
redeemer for those greenskins in cover and as tpt for your termis
maybe consider normal termis for their stormbolters and CML rather than ass termis?
