I just read the rules for spearhead and overall I like it, wouldn't if it wasn't free haha. I am confused about something thou. I am unsure how the force organization chart works. Lets say I take 3 deathstrikes (just as a random example) for one spearhead formation does it count as three heavy choices, or just one? and do you need an HQ and two troops as well? also since tanks can't take objectives than aren't you in need of troops just for the sake of winning some games. if this is true than spearhead doesn't bring that much new to the table since it just seems to boost up the abilities of tanks. I was hoping it would make tanks wanted more on the field and changing the whole dynamics of the game. could someone help me clear this up?

thanks, and i hope this isnt too much of a noob question.

THis is the FoC:

0-2 HQ

0-3 Elite

0-6 TRoops

0-3 Fast Attack

0-3 Heavy Support

0+ Formations

When formations are purchased, the models take up no FoC slots except the Formation Slot.

Also remeber you can only take one of each formation (I would guess this would be negated in apoc though)

Read the Spearhead rules in WD, not just the pdf? In spearhead, tanks are scoring.

In WD it says see GW site for Spearhead formations and other rules. WHere are they?

On the GW site, there's a link near the top called "Astronomican." That page lists all the latest gaming articles. As I look at the page now, it shows up as the latest one. (Note, you have to have to be signed in to an account on the GW site to download it.)

The rules for setting up battles and determining victory is in the White Dwarf. Only the specialised formations are on the GW website. You need both to play. Looks like fun though. I plan on putting more effort into getting more vehicles and giving it a try.

I love how people keep saying its "free"... I don't call an article in a 9 dollar magazine "free"...

Anyhow, the formations on the GW website look promising. I was thinking of petitioning my regular gaming group into using them in Apoc games.
