Pretty good, no obvious problems as far as I can tell. You might want to consider switching the Tl on your flamers and missile pods but your pathfinder team should have that covered, it has more versatility the way it is now. Looks good.

Has a good chance at a wide variety of lists but seems like it might have some trouble with tank spam.

I really like fire warriors but they honestly just suck. the only thing I hate more then firewarriors is kroot. But some people ahve allot of success with them. I unfortunatly do not.

I think you are better off twin linking the missle pods instead of the flamers.

I am not a fan of the deepstriking Throw away suits with the fusion blasters. I mean those suits are so expensive as it is. Every little bit helps.

Man The Tau codex needs some Love.

Ya codex is lame but i got the units already so whatever. I got the twin flamers painted up already which is why i put them in. My throw aways will be a bit more successful with the pathfinder beacon.

Sadly fire warriors are a 1+ requirement.

Actually kroot are good for objective holding and pillboxing in cover. You can also use them for a ghetto fish of fury and to cover your broadsides as an anti assault unit.

It really helps the improvement of this list saying that fire warriors are bad, but Kroot are worse...

In reality, I find that they both have there applied uses where they can be extremely effective. Usually my FLGS plays with plenty of woods, at least two blocks of it on any board, and that opens an opportunity for a block of Kroot with 3-2+ cover saves.

Beyond that, I would tune down the two suits you got shield drones for, it seems like unnecessary overkill. If it was a whole unit, I would have worried more about putting them in, but it isn't a large unit... I would suggest getting rid of those drones.

I would allocate the points to make your Devilfish a full fledged Warfish, getting it a multi-tracker, targeting array, and SMS.

Beyond that, you have a really solid army. Though, your HQ unit doesn't seem right, it is extremely cheap.... are you sure those numbers are correct? I quickly calculated about 290, give or take fifteen points. There is no way its that cheap, same with your other battlesuit units.

I also tallied up each individual unit, according to your values, and it was about 1400 points, not 1499.

Oh right. My points are off. I was actually 101 points over so i took out a kroot squad, 1 fire warrior and 2 shield drones.

Now i just need to get some games in because i don't see how this or any tau list could really ever win a game

Ok, now that I see those points, I would suggest getting rid of your commander's bodyguards.

Give your Shas'el the drone controller and the two shield drones, and then make the two 'vre into 'ui and make them an elite choice. That will cut off 20 points, and then you can join your commander to that unit because he is an IC.

Then combine those other two suits into one unit, and get rid of a DC and a Shield Drones, and then demote one of them to a normal soldier. That will save about 20 more points, and it makes a good amount more sense.

I would then make your unit of Kroot a minimum size of ten, and allocate all of your extra points into getting another unit of Kroot/Fire Warriors as a troop choice, because you are low.

Actually the purpose of having two helios was for more tank killing. I rather just take out one of the suits altogether. Its twin-linked anyways. I'll just put another shield drone on it.
