On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate the chaos terminator set? I've got like 50 bucks, and I was thinking about buying a set. They seem like pretty well sculpted models, but are the sprue options and what-not good enough?

The sprue is not impressive. I don't think you get lightning claws, and they give you one combi-flamer and melta.
Plenty of...power fists.

Yeah,it has an extreme lack of lightning claws, apparently. I don't use them too much, but they're great for conversions. There's an autocannon, but no one uses those,so meh.

I didn't get much use of them last edition when I played them, so I doubt they'd fare well in the 5e mech meta.

I use them 3 to a squad DS'd with combi-meltas. It is called a termicide squad. 105 points designed to kill tanks. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I have a squad of 5 with dual lightning claws. 200 points and not so good against AV14. Also not so good for a non-scoring unit. A 10 man CSM squad with 2 meltas, AC w/ pf and a IofCG is 205 and way more versatile. The chaos codex kinda sucks right now for fun and variable choices. The models themselves benefit from the purchase of a Chaos Lord in TDA box. It gives more bits than you can use on the Lord alone.

You get a bunch of powerfists and exotic power weapons.
You get no lightning claws and not enough other options.
Also, the kit is from GW's early days of fancy plastic kit making, so the skulls seem pretty lackluster.
