So, I'm looking through the Chaos Codex the other day, checking for new expansion ideas for my army & WTF! How did I miss The Chosen??? Dono. But I'munna fix that right nyah!
Posted an idea with this guy a lil while back:

asking if a beaky head would be a bad idea for a Chosen since they're s'posed to be veterans & all, but I've since abandoned that idea.

Still going to go all oldskool mini's with this project because they are supposed to be veterans. Started off with some old termie arms I had from a 4th or 3rd ed termie, they're going on the champion. I found some oldskool PMs on ebay & am eagerly awaiting their arrival! Got 5 o' those plus the Champ & a classic icon bearer which I can still get on GW makes for a very nurgle-happy squad of 7 Chosen. Going to roll with the Champ with PF & TL Bolter, x2 meltas, x2 plasmas, a lascannon & the icon bearer with MoN

This is what I have done on the Champ so far:



GAWD my camera still sucks! As you can see, I stuck with the 3 skulls on the left PF arm, but scrapped the GS nurgle 3 dots on the right arm & found a nifty way to make a classic DG icon: Take one Emperor's Children vehicle icon & clip the crescent & nub off the other side & you have a skull with a circle around it with 3 spikes on either side. Sound familiar?
Even thought of a bit of fluff for him: Rotimus, formerly Company Champion Rostimus of some DG army somewhere, still serves the DG, but now for Nurgle & has quite the appetite for destruction & death! He still rocks the PH DG icon to show others how long he's been in the game. O.O, maybe I could carve a line through it all Naruto style (yes, i watch it. shut up) & has fought several battles alongside Ku'gath The Plaguefather, charging the enemy line, taking Necrotic Missiles in hand & shoving them into the faces of loyalist lapdaogs! Obviously, the fluff needs some work. Thought I'd scan through some Abnett novels to find some good stuff.
So that's it for now, but I'll be uploading pics of the PMs when I get them...

So, got my Plague Marines from ebay! Classic fat Plague Marines. A little plain though. In fact they all look exactly alike. So I chopped 'em up & glued 'em back together with loctite & style!

especially the skulls on the hilt of his plaguesword! They're from the Slaanesh icon banner & VERY VERY tiny! cut myself twice

So here's the delema I'm now faced with. I made a HUGE error in the creation of this squad. Originally I had them spec'd out this way: 7 Chosen, 1 Champ w/ PF & TL Bltr, 2x meltas, 2x plasmas, 1 lascannon & 1 MoN Icon bearer thinking the champ would get the standard champ upgrades like with CSMs, power wpn & bolter upgrades. Nope! He's just a Champ with an extra attack. That's it. To make matters worse to give him anything I would have to take away from one of the special weapons AND I can't give him the PF & TL Bltr, just one. Boo!
So, for right now, I'm building them with a Champ w/ PF, 2x plasma, 1 melta & the lascannon. Logically, the best thing to do would be to drop the Champ & just roll with 4 special weapons & I'm sure everyone will say drop the plasmas & just roll with 4 meltas, but I like variety & range. Sue me.
Dono what I'm gona do with these guys, but I'll figure sup'n out. For now it's on to blackbase on some of them & waiting on bits for the others. yay waiting!

Got the legs & lascannon in. And an Icon Bearer makes 7!

Some of them painted, some still just basecoat for now. I decided to go with the color scheme I saw on the box in random swatches:


Now on to Rotimus. I recently made some wings for one of my Daemon Princes out of wire, GS & latex and it came out GREAT! So I decided to try the same thing with Rotimus. That way I can run him as a Chosen Champ or Winged CL.

Latex, like from latex gloves. And yeah, it is a bit OTT. Somethin told me it would be easier than just GS though. And less expensive

I think the only units that can have wings are DP or CL, no Chosen. That's why I mag-moded him.
